That there is your first comment. Clearly downplaying and obviously based on Gaze (since that is who we were discussing prior to your post). If you weren't talking about Gaze.......well that's pretty random comments(especially since you preface your post by mentioning him.) Plus you highlighted my comment about his Olympic scoring efforts, so obviously your response was based around Gaze. Nowhere before you posted this did I say Gaze was an "amazing player". Someone called him a chump and I made the comment that he basically can't be too bad because he's the second all time Olympic scorer. Didn't say he could have been an NBA star (said he could of been better with more opportunity), didn't even say he was an Olympic star. So obviously you lost the point mate.


As for being "fired" up, that's funny. I think it's entertaining and a discussion.....far from fired up.

Thats acutually a really dumb comment considering he only played around 3-10mins per game in the NBA.

Ya had me trippin for a second cause it's 11:50 now.....then I realized the time difference! Should be a sweet game
 
i recorded the opals game but havent watched it yet....it was on channel 7 so my fingers arent crossed to get most of the game..ar well...

I hope they actually show the semis in the Mens. I'm looking forward to the Argentina vs USA game - should be a good one

one game they played against the USA in cleveland in 1996 (pre-olympic match) Brazil had a 4 on 1 fast break and Schmidt pulled up and shot a 3...Mav alerbt "its a 4 on 1...but...Ocsar...fires..from downtown" (he made the 3 btw)

Oh boy could he shoot too! He was probably one of the best players to never play in the NBA.

You right mate, it is AM...my mistake, i fixed my original post.

According to my program listing, SBS is showing the Football Bronze Medal game, volleyball and water polo tonight. I think we have to hope that channel 7 is going to show some footage.

hopfully they show it though, i know the other night the Argentina vs Greece game wasnt in the tv guide and i heard les murry say "we will show the argentina game later on tonight"
so i just hit record went to bed and woke up and checked it before work and got it lol...was good, apparently was the best basketball game of this olympics.

so you never know

I didn't downplay Gaze at all. Hence the preface saying I won't judge Gaze, the next sentence was general and regarding any/all players who have played International and NBA.

See I never said you said Gaze was an amazing player. Your probably right about a lot of the things I was saying, but the point I am trying to get across is that I was not downplaying Gaze at all, and if you took it that I was, I obviously didn't do a good job of expressing what I was trying to say, and you misinterpreted that, in the same way it's true I lost the clarity of the point of what you were saying and misinterpreted that too.

I feel ya mate.....it's all good. That's the trouble with the internet.....sometimes hard to express yourself in the desired manner!

Oscar was a stud......always loved watching him play. Definitely one of the great non NBAers!

I hope they show something tonight......I'd be REALLY surprised not to see something of the US game. Lets hope guys!
 
since most of the aussies have done there events i think they will start showing sum of the high profile games from other sports

plus i think the game starts just after midnight, so there shouldn't be much else on.

anyway, i recommend you don't stay up to watch Argentina USA on channel 7 haha we all know how much of the game they'll actually show.. maybe 20 minutes..
