2014 AFL Season - Spoilers Inside

anyone think he could still win?

even if he averaged 2 on the bolded games - still gets him 24 votes.
The winner had
2008 - 24
2009 - 30
2010 - 30
2011 - 34
2012 - 30
2013 - 28
Guess it really depends on who stands up to beat him. ATM u would figure him to well ahead but someone like a Pendlebury with Swanny having a slower season could chase it down or even a smokey like Robbie Gray.

I reckon he is still quite a good chance $8 is good odds considering no one else has really dominated this year.
but i think either Matt priddis or Travis boak will win it.

Seen something last night that I don't think I have ever seen before, and hope I don't see again. Razor Ray jumped the gun last night and called time at the end of the third quarter before the siren had even sounded. Regardless of if the Hawks were going to score or not the AFL's response is disgraceful. On the AFL website the heading is 'AFL satisfied with Chamberlain's response to early siren call'. Now to me they have clearly said in the article that they have no idea what noise Chamberlin heard in his ear piece, so based on that why don't they just come out and say he made a mistake? I don't know why they don't just cop it and say what is obvious to all of us, that the umpire stuffed up and make an apology. The umpires are way too protected in my opinion. It was shocking by the umpire to call it before the siren, can you imagine if the Hawks had lost by less than a goal, there would be riots.

tbh I have no problem with it. Umpiring AFL is a thankless task, the way punters behave towards them is deplorable, and the AFL should do everything in it's power to protect them.

And all they said was they're content with how he handled the situation, ie. admitting fault on field and playing the ball up.

Umpires are only human, and despite what people demand of them, they'll never call the perfect game.

I loved Razor Ray's reaction - there wasn't much else he could do in the situation. "Holy Jesus" just about summed it up :-)

Well the Suns make me look foolish by playing poor footy. Fumbley hands, skill errors, and a lack of run in the end. Lonergan's kicking was especially poor and Rory needs to start being more than a big fist down back.

On the other hand the Dogs were fantastic, got on top at the stoppages, tremendous pressure around the contest, and some great run through the middle.

Got the rub from the umps though, with a 16-8 free kick count with some pretty soft calls.

EDIT:

2011: 10,832 (Richmond)
2012: 10,961 (Richmond)
2013: 11,197 (Richmond)
2014: 9,746 (Western Bulldogs)

Disappointing drop in attendance, but I guess given Richmond has 63,400 members to the Bulldogs 26,600 it was to be expected.

North Melbourne, biggest joke in the AFL. Ruined our punters club for the week. Seriously though, what is wrong with their consistency, its non existent!

Just watched the Saints vs Dockers game and now watching the Giants vs Cats game and have a thought. The umpires this week have been told to look very closely at the distance of a kick before paying a mark. I cant remember how many times already I've thought to myself after an umpire has called play on that surely that was 15mtrs. I would nearly put money on the fact its something they've been told to look at this round.

This has been a very testing year for me as an footy fan. I am sick and tired of the tackler not being rewarded. The cop out of 'lost in the tackle' is exactly that, a cop out. Far too many incorrect disposals go unpunished. The coaches want a minimum of 20 metres per kick, shoot the umpires have no idea what 15 metres is, let alone 20. Far too much inconsistency in decisions. Paid up one end of the ground, but not paid at the other.

Bit of talk that phil davis may be lured back to the crows as they try and get some defenders after the retirement of Ben Rutten and Brent Riley falling out of favor.

Personally he left the club for money so why would we trade picks and players for someone that left for the money to go to GWS.

Crows can't be that stupid surely?

+ no heart, no desire

For a game that has the added spice of state pride, this was a absolutely woeful showing from Gold Coast. This is more than just no Gaz, no Suns, there was no desire, no intent, no composure, no structure.

Hell if Karmichael Hunt is healthy next week I'd rather they didn't waste him in the NEAFL, send a message, drop some passengers, and send him out against St Kilda.

Workrate > Talent.

And while I'm venting

f*****g deplorable by the AFL to have West Coast wear their away strip at home.

And f*** Vickery. Back to the twos with that hack.

I think Ty Vickery has played his last senior game for the season mate - he was suspended for two weeks after the Round 12 game against North Melbourne so you would imagine with carry over points he's just about knackered for 2014. What WAS the go with the Eagles jumper anyway? I switched the TV on and wondered what the bloody hell I was watching!

Career hopefully.

All of Richmond's strips clash with West Coast's home guernsey. The AFL is claiming the West Coast were given the option and chose to wear the away strip; West Coast are saying there was never any choice.

That the situation hadn't been sorted since the game last year at Subi when West Coast did wear their home strip is maddening.

Also; something else I forgot. The Seven broadcast ONCE AGAIN decided to have a running commentary demonising the home crowd, as if West Coast fans are the only ones to show a little anger over the fence when one of their club champions is felled by a dog act. Richo can f***ing suck it up. He wants to pal around with the Tigers and high five Vickery, then he can cop the associated heat. Don't try and distance yourself with comments like "maybe they should be reminded I don't play for them anymore" and then join in the revelry.
