Im wondering if its even the same card. Did you examine the auto placement on it?
I've noted it and it is the same card.

Me: Hi Jeromy, one part of your statement I don't like - "The only people that actually know what to look for on cards is our graders" - according to Matt the crease is fairly obvious and one that he "definitely would have noticed".
At the very least, as a gesture of goodwill, would Beckett be willing to refund the cost of grading..? Matt is going about filing an insurance claim but I still have to pay him back for grading that we would not have proceeded with had the card been in that condition when initially received.
Beckett: I am not sure why this statement bothers you. The people that know what to look for on cards is graders. Their job is to grade cards and that is what they did. They saw a flaw on your card and downgraded it. They noticed the damage and marked the grade accordingly. The rest of our staff does not examine flaws on the card. That is the graders job. I stand by that statement.
I am sorry but I can’t refund the grading fee because we graded the card and shipped it back to you. The damage issue aside on this. We provided the service you requested. Where the damage took place is another issue and refunding the grading fees simply can’t be done. I am sorry.
Basically "we are a big company and don't give a toss about you and your stupid complaint, so bugger off"
That's pretty bad PR right there. I think you are asking very little in asking for the grading fee to be refunded, but they seem to care so much about their measly few dollars to grade the card that they would rather keep it than try and appease one of their unhappy customers after initially denying that they damaged the card in the first place.
Whats the pop report on the Wilt retro's?
I've always wondered if the graders themselves had certain cards in their own personal collections with low pops if they'd do things to purposely keep the value in their cards. Wouldn't put it past them.
Think about it a pop 1 9.5 Wilt would be a huge premium, now if a 2nd one were to be graded 9.5 the value drops significantly so a subtle bend and presto still only 1 pop 1 9.5
whats this guys position at beckett? take it higher. he might be covering his own ass too.
i say try and get an email address for Mark Anderson...apparently Director of Grading and Authentication.
dont roll over hairy!
Just keep keep going higher up the tree and peppering people with emails. I would even attach the link to this forum post. At some stage you would think someone will throw some money at you. Do let these *****s get away with it.
**** this has been on my mind for the last 24 hours. just cant beleive the hole Beckett is digging themselves. do they realize how many people are on, or view these forums?! if they have stuffed you around on a Wilt Auto card what hope is there for the rest of us! i saved and enlarged and played around with the ebay photo of the Wilt card and whilst its not the best pic it certainly isnt the worst and my eagle eyes and editing couldnt find anything wrong! i would simply use that pic as proof that it was fine beforehand! to me you have a clear case, they didnt even contact you to ask whether to grade it with the crease its just so frustrating. youve already used a lot more patients and calm than i would in the same situation!!
