What happens to forum members who rip other members off

Paypal is terrible and a scam magnet. Not that reliable but the only thing to really use for low end deals.

It all sounds great in theory Alex but i think your underestimating the costs and potential issues involved. Bank guarantees are a pain in the ass to set up and what happens if i send you the card and the it goes missing in between you and the buyer?

I know its not perfect but anyone heard of paypal? I know Bolli lost out to Steve but if he followed the Paypal processes he most likely would not be in his current situation.

the distinct difference between Shaun and Steve... Steve is known to have had internet activity since... Purchase via Ebay... But has anyone seen ANY movement from Shaun at all...?? I hate to say it, but how do we even know he is still with us...???

Im not condoning either of them, but Steve for some reason is CLEARLY and PROVEN to be avoiding the situation, while Shaun has all but vanished!

He put the claim in and then cancelled it according to his original post.

Paypal is the last person to solve your problems. They just shift the problem to the seller to the buyer or vice versa so that one side cops it all. No mediation or middle ground at all. Worst part of it is they still take a fee. Read thread set up the Matt or garnettfan4life.

I understand that but my point more is if im struggling to trust a person in a card trade why then do i trust someone else who has set themselves up as a middle man?

In games where there is item trading for either cash or other non-game-related items, the middle man is usually a moderator or admin of a server. I guess if the middle man here would be the admin/mod as well, thought I doubt Graham, Billy or Matt have the time.

Well a bit of an update, a member here pointed me towards a couple of online gambling sites and identified a member there called shaunmc2910 who seemed to live in the area that smc2910 did so I left a message. Got me a thinking so I did a search of ebay members for something like shaunmc2910 (Shauns ebay userid was bigman something) and I located an active ebay member smc2910. A check of that users ID history indicated it was bigman something.......... so our Shaun and a message left for him there.

I'll just start up a conveyancing company problem solved. But getting back to the mods and admin. It is a bloody hard job and the guys here do a good job. Adminning my site when it was at its peak (re: when i was spending time on it). There were hundreds of active members posting and it was a CL^$t#r%u@K trying to keep up with everything even with support of mods. With regards to google its absolutely magic for tracking people down and banning multiple accounts.
Oh and btw Ip adresses in some cases mean absolutely sweet FA Unis, Schools etc all usually fall under the one ip.

Yeah I have to agree wholeheartedly with that.

When I got ripped off by someone, the ops were VERY quick to warn me when someone using the same IP address showed up on the site a couple of months later.

Only people I would see fit as a middleman would be the admins. And they're quite busy as pointed out many times already.
