The Official LA LAKERS thread!!

Lakers are way off the pace. We don't need Dwight, we don't need a SF...press play on the chaddy42 tape...WE NEED A QUALITY PG!!! Sessions will do...and he is available.

If we don't make a trade this year, we are out by round 2...mark my words. And with Kobe not getting any younger, the window is slowly closing.

OK, so I got my wish - we picked up Sessions.

But tossing away Fish for nothing actually hurts. I have been very critical of Fish over the years, and I won't miss him on the court...but he is a Laker through and through and does not deserve to be tossed away just to save $$ for a greedy owners son. If he is allowed to continue to make such decisions, Jim Buss will bring this great franchise to it's knees.

If the team moves on from loosing its spiritual leader, putting Sessions in as a starter should give this team a decent kick start...I think we might be back to being contenders again.

Thoughts??

Maybe they are giving him a message...

"If you got us a better deal in your CBA agreement we wouldn't need to get rid of you!" lol

as much as it pains me to say it, the lakers are now a chance to win the title, fisher was a big liability. I was looking forward to tony parker dropping 35 a game on him!!!!

So I'm not the biggest fan of the Fisher trade. The guy was smart and could knock down shots when needed. The triangle offense was not one that relied on the PG being a stud (BJ Armstrong?? Steve Kerr??). Mike Brown's sets may require a different approach. I just feel that Ron Artest (or whatever the hell his name is), is dead weight..no offense, no consistency, no rebounding, okayish defense when he feels like it. At least they unloaded Luke Walton.

Fisher was a defencive liability like no other in the league and had to drop to the second unit...but we needed someone like Sessions to replace him first. Agree that he didn't need to be strong in the triangle offence though.

World Peace is still our best one on one defender - he has single handedly taken two games to OT this week with steals in the final minute. Not every member can be a superstar, every team needs the role players who understand their roles...but I do think he works better as the leader of the 2nd unit. Beasley would have a pretty good fit and would spread the D with his range, leaving more lane space for Kobe, Bynum and Gasol.

And with Luke, not happy to see him go personally, but very happy that he took his $6m a year with him! His contract was almost as bad as Turkoglu!

metta world peace may be a head case but he got game. I think the spurs just traded themselves into a western conference final acquiring stepehn jackson..

Calling one player a head case, then mentioning a great pick up in Capt'n Jack rates as irony in my book.

By the way, I'm not saying MWP isn't a nutter...

Ah I see. The spurs will not tolerate his shit. I hope. Half the muppets in the NBA are all about themselves anyway, actually probably most.

Good luck is all I can say...history shows that he is a player that just loves to shoot (pun intended).

Anyway, enough Spurs talk, back to the Lakers...
