The Official 2017 TLA Elite NRL Thread (Sell Sheet Page 10, 1/1 Preview Page 17)

The junior ref was an off duty police officer. The boys were trying to get an seriously injuried player off the field as the play coming his way (player safety comes to mind) plus the game wasn't actually junior either. mind you Andrew does coach junior league from time to time.
We have had too many Gallen cards. I actually enjoyed Ennis ones ! Though wouldn't mind Lewis ones, the man is top notch
like the idea of the lewis cards.

Gallen is about to crack 300 in a couple of weeks as well
Would be him over Lewis then, doubt theyd have 2 from the same club

Heighington cracked 300 too this year - sharks have had 3 just this year!

Wouldve been Thurston too but he's 1 short

Should do a full milestone set again like they did in 14 Traders

Croker hit 200 this year, most teams would have a player hit a significant milestone each year

A 300 game signature series like the Legends signatures in Traders would be terrific.

300 games is a huge achievement that should be commemorated

At the start of their careers you hear a lot about players wanting to represent their state/country, win a premiership etc. But constantly we hear of player's desire to achieve the 300 milestone, because it is a sign of true longevity and success

I applaud 300 gamers who play more than 40 minutes a game.

Blokes back in the day played 80 minutes, barely any interchange / substitution etc.

Played 200 games back in the day is like 400 now.

Since 2000 we've had -

Lockyer
Smith
Menzies
Parker
Fittler
Hindmarsh
Croker
El Masri
Cronk
Priddis
Price
Kite
Heighington
Wiki
Civoniceva
Kimmorley
Watmough
Minichiello
Ricketson
Hoffman
Lewis
Prince
Morris

Soon - Gallen

That leaves only Lamb, Gerard, Lyons, ET, Langmack as really the pre-2000 300 gamers. Shows how much harder it was. And Gerard and Langmack got puffed out stats with interchanges later included in to their stats.

Out of that whole list, who really is an '80 minute' player and who is a rotated forward?

My 80 minute players - Lockyer, Smith, Fittler, El Masri, Cronk, Kimmorley, Minichiello, Prince, Lamb, Lyons, ET. About a third.

Not knocking the blokes who make 300 games, but it certainly needs to put in to perspective.

Not to mentions most of those player named clocked up massive amounts of rep games in form of origin and playing for there country. Adding to the toll on there bodies

Thurston will get it next year and Sutton should too if he plays. Slater will reach 300 this year if he plays every game and Storm play in all 4 rounds of the finals but if not he'll be close

I see your point but you could also say that if a middle forward plays 50 minutes per week he absorbs much more punishment, makes more tackles etc than a half or outside back who plays the full 80

like that Brendan, ie el masri, hardly did any work except for kick goals, run the ball back a few times, score the occasional try, and beat his wife.
