I said it's been a while since we've seen an innings like the one Renshaw played yesterday. Well, the last time an Australian batsman scored 30+ runs at a strike rate of less than 25 in a Test innings was 8 years ago by Simon Katich. In fact, he's only the third Australian to do it this millennium.

Some people seem to want it both ways. The kid has copped enormous criticism in some quarters following that innings, which to me reflects our modern "troll" society. It is hardly surprising that a twenty year-old debutant is going to struggle to score freely against probably the best pace bowling attack in the world - one which had reduced the Australian Test team to an object of ridicule and derision just a fortnight or so previously.
Without Reshaw negotiating a tough period and Thursday night, this Test might have seen a very different result. When you add to that his sheer bloody-mindedness to see Australia home yesterday, to me it adds up to an outstanding debut Test.
Go "Renny" Renshaw, you good thing!!
I guess this pretty much sums up the opinions of some!
Nevill 179 not out and five catches in the first innings....

As I said in my post last night, I think he'll come back in for the Pakistan series unless Matt Wade can match his form in the ODI's.Nevill 179 not out and five catches in the first innings....
After watching him in last years BBL and this seasons Matador I would have him opening instead of Finch. The only detriment is he isn't a great fielder.
I realised that Clarkey wasn't making much sense in the comm box the other day... He repeatedly said that David Warner was in 'brilliant form'. He might have played a few nice shots but he certainly isn't in brilliant form, he hasn't really had much form since the first innings of the first test.
Mitch marsh has to go seriously , need a full season back at state level?Yeah Maxy is a must, sensational fielder, handy bowler and explosive bat. Who misses out, Head?
I can understand saying this about Marsh at Test level, but not ODI. He's actually got a very solid one-day record and has won a couple of games off his own bat. Just because he's been struggling in the Tests, doesn't mean he should be dumped from the ODI team as well.Mitch marsh has to go seriously , need a full season back at state level?
100% agree Scotty. He got out quickly in the ODI and people are calling for his head already. Read the stats!!!I can understand saying this about Marsh at Test level, but not ODI.
