Select Supremacy Thread (now with Afterpay)

That’s not right - the cheapest teams were $30 (single box break) but popular teams like Collingwood, Richmond, Carlton, Essendon and Geelong were all $60+ each.

Like anything it’s a gamble, buy the Pies for $70 and you may get nothing at all or you maybe get the best card on the checklist which you’d never be able to afford otherwise.

Just checked now and you are correct, they are now starting at $30, however I could have sworn the first few breaks listed were all $30.

Either way to me that makes it even worse.
If the lowest price is $30, and there are 18 teams, that is already $540 to fill the break. So if most teams are priced higher than $30, that is a hell of a lot of money Cherry are making on breaks given boxes only sell for $500.

Naturally We will all have a better idea of the value in certain teams break prices when more is revealed.

I bought two spots in the first two breaks, one for $40 and one for $60. The prices have been the same across all 8 breaks listed so far.

The 18 spots for the total they are selling them for add up to about $770 so they’re making a $250+ profit on each box...

Yep not bad for half hours work busting lol and then remember that half the teams are paying for postage that isn't even going to be used lol

Think a lot of people are buying based on fomo at the moment but also it's a chance for those who don't have $500 to spend to get involved so each to their own. Just think cherry are normally really good with their pricing but a bit greedy on this set

Not really greedy, they are a shop with employees who get paid to do breaks and they pay tax on everything they do, lots of overheads, people who do it from home don’t need to worry about this that’s why they do it cheaper

Sorry yes I shouldn't have used greedy as I really enjoy the cherry stuff usually. I more ment the value for money just isn't there for the lower end clubs. I just think they got their ratios a fair bit off.

I just really wanted to take part but at 30 with no guarantee of there even being any gws or gc cards yet other than commons it is a bit of a stretch.

It’s a risk until we see a checklist but they have nearly filled 8 boxes so demand is there, will probably get bigger once more info comes out

Yeah just to clarify I am talking from a gws and gc perspective which is the teams that are primarily not taken in all breaks. I think prices may have been to cheap for top end if anything. But this is a product we have never seen before so breaks were always going to sell quickly.

Who know I may see a checklist and jump into the breaks but imo the breakdowns of prices a bit uneven

Think fact that there is no wholesale means the prices seem higher as shops need to pay more initially for the boxes.

But on another subject, anyone have any guesses as to what's coming. Or what are you hoping for. In terms of my pc I am hoping for a dual patch Ablett card (both Geelong and gc) or a sig of Ablett in gc colours.

Maybe a ward or shaw dual team card also.

I think you nailed it no wholesale means no cheap breaks, everybody has to pay up for this release even for the unpopular teams

I think there will be some dual/triple sig cards. Whether it be with BL winners, or Premiership Coaches.

I dont think it can just be about single sigs. Theres a lot of that out there. Gotta be something unique. Match worn patches, multi-sigs.

maybe a Coaches one with Clarkson/Matthews/Sheedy etc etc

Maybe a Coach/Premiership captain dual sig.

Hopefully some 1/1s cards too

etc etc

Won’t be 1/1s that I can guarantee

ok. that is disappointing.

what is the disadvantage of having a few 1/1s in there?

would be the best way to pump the value of the release imo
Agree I wouldn’t mind it especially after just doing nrl elite, impossible to search cases as you just never know, but they have said there will never be a 1/1 in AFL Cards, but it’s only a matter of time imo
