Scientology seriously folks!

Why? Because Jesus claimed He is God. This takes us back to the earlier topic about absolute truth, which you either embrace or reject. If you don't accept that Jesus is God, therefore it was God who was nailed on the cross, putting upon Himself the due penalty of our sins, and saving those who believe.. then everything else about Christianity will have nothing to do with you.

Justin... Carlos did! LOL

In my eyes Jesus is the son of God. I can understand how some may think he is just a VIP (very important prophet). hehe. I think that is ok too - each to their own. As we all know, it's basically the same story, just different versions/POV's.

Yeah I don't preach. I just had to back the answers to questions with text from the bible, otherwise I'm being a Kiddolic. lol. :D

Thanks AJ.

You don't have to read the thread Scotty and we're not segregating OzCards. ;)

ok carlos, now im confused. jesus claimed he was god, but also claimed he was the son of god. when he was dying on the cross and yelled out "my god, why have you forsaken me?" who was he talking to...himself???

God. God is in 3 persons... the Father.. the Son.. and the Holy Spirit. But they are one. It's a mystery that no one will be able to explain to you, as you aren't a Christian.Trust me.. so it's pretty senseless to explain further. :)

Tell you what dude, let's end this thread already, because we both already have a stand, and no one's budging. ;) I doubt you're asking because you're sincerely seeking anyways.

no need to be condescending. im just seeking knowledge carlos, its just something i enjoy doing, im not trying to prove you wrong or anything. so can you please attempt to answer my question?

Before everything was created, Jesus was with God.

John 1:1-2
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning.

and

14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Jesus = The Word = was with God since the beginning.

Jesus' claim (verse 26 says a lot too:P):

John 10
25Jesus answered, "I did tell you, but you do not believe. The miracles I do in my Father's name speak for me, 26but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. 27My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. 29My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. 30I and the Father are one."

Hope that helps mate. :) So when Jesus was on the cross, He was shouting to the Father, who was in heaven.

Wow, has this thread taken off. Had a bit of a look-see this arvo (as a guest), and have a few comments.

Will post as I read them at home.

I personally, like the extra page from the Bible that was found during an episode of red dwarf.... that basically went along the lines of "dear so and so I hope you enjoy this story of fiction"....

I love that episode too. I think it's "To Chelsea"...

I always quote that line to get a cheap laugh out of mates.

I think to answer your question regarding the Holy Trinity (at least from my limited/ill-conceived logic) -

There is God (ie Creator of Universe & Jesus' father - in a heaven sense)
Jesus - Son of God who became flesh (inhabited Earth)
Holy Trinity - Spirit of God (that part that communicates through your soul)

This Holy Trinity was as 1 person - "God" - in the Creation. But due to Sin entering the world, and Old Testament sacrifices no longer were enough to cover our sins, God decided to send Jesus as a living sacrifice to wash away our sins. This resulted in the Holy Trinity (or God) being split into individual pieces, of which Jesus inhabiting Earth.

Your question of who was he praying to, would be that he was praying to his Father in Heaven (God), even though technically God knew everything Jesus was feeling. There are also other examples where Jesus prayed to God (calling him both "my God" or "my Father"), such as when he was being tempted in the desert, Lord's prayer etc.

I hope this goes some way to answering your question.
