Beau Scott's late hit on Slater was even worse than Papali's. I admire Gallen hugely as a player, great competitor, tough and uncompromising and plays the whole 80 but he would the first player to put a forearm on a face in tackle because it is a tough game of origin football. Gallen is a ball playing backrower, one of his greatest abilities is going to the line drawing in extra defenders and offloading and as such he regularly gets hit after he offloads the ball because defenders are committed. It always looks way worse in slow motion but at normal speed there is no way that a defender could pull out.

Big Difference between the two was slater was in possession of the ball.
No he wasn't, the ball was well & truly gone!
Even Gallen came out and said the Papali hit on him wasn't as bad as the hit Scott put on Slater. As I said he is a tough bloke Gallen and leaves it on the field where it should be, he would have done exactly the same thing.

The nature of the game is to hit players hard and especially key players such as Gallen. It is a risk you take running the ball to the line, yep he got hit after the ball was passed and in slow mo it looks terrible, speed it up to real time and he only has eyes for Gallen and makes the hit. Even Gallen himself has come out and said there was nothing in it.

gallen has done plenty in his career don't worry about that
but old papali is getting a habit for it now on gallen it seems
the get square will come one day might not be fallen but someone will get him i long for that day
I have no doubt that he will get his own, nature of the game but I don't think there is anything in it other than what you mentioned and I am glad it has been left on the field aside from that moron ROTHFIELD.
The last time Gallen and Papali came together in that semi Gallen copped the hit, gave Papali a spray on the field and left it at that. He was then ambushed in the media conference and the whole thing was blown out of proportion.
It is a contact sport and when you run to the line and create play before the line you risk getting smacked hard.
