Origin 2014! SPOILERS

Can anyone tell me why hodges didnt play the ball and inglis did. still was happy when inglis played it as it took him out of there attack.
GGGOOOO THE BLUES

That whole last 2 minutes was puzzling and commical...in regards to the refs. Glad it didn't decide the game....again

Is it just me or did Hodges lose the ball while getting tackled, the refs looked at each other, blew the whistle and said "Umm, we'll stop play for the injured player over there". Then resumed play with an Inglis play the ball.

It was like, this is a penalty or a lost ball but I don't want to make that call....let's pretend it didn't happen.

Considering this followed the crazy knock-on call, the whole thing felt like a big stitch up.

No one likes seeing anyone getting back slammed in a game even a QLD player but even I dont think Reynolds will get to much of a penalty, Scott was pulling him down as Reynolds went around the legs and starting to drive and Tate just pivoted over Scotts shoulder and made it all look bad, If the neck brace is a concern for anyone or more importantly Tate then why is he playing at all. Reynolds will be there for game 2 i beleive....

Great win by the Mighty Blues and just an amazing game well worth a 100 game milestone :) well done to both teams

The refs were a joke one calling milking then the other gives queensland a penalty for not getting of the player when he was clearly holding his jersey stopping him getting up and i cant understand why it wasnt a hodges knock on.

Interesting stats....

The Blues kicked nearly 300 metres more than QLD
Qld doubled the line breaks
Qld nearly Doubled the Blues in Penalties awarded
everything else is pretty much even.....

Bird in for Watmough.

Fifita can't be picked IMO injured and out of form.

Cordner not due back to Rnd 17 so if this is still the case he is no chance for Origin II in Rnd 14-15

ah right thought cordner would be right for game 2 my bad,
anyone heard if the morris boys will be ok? if not who replaces them? Taufua? Mead?

Hope the dogs fight the charge, @GiRDS- similar tackles havent even been cited this year. It was the momentum of Scott who caused the flip. Maybe best you get back on the panfers Bandwagon, Cause out of your teams they are the only ones with a hope of semis.

Congratulations to NSW for winning the 2014 State of Origin. I was so very wrong about them. So very wrong. Twas a very strong win last night, if the chest thumping was anything to go by. Well done NSW.

Before NSW get too excited, the difference was two missed conversions.

And an arsey Hayne rollover try.

And geez I'm sick to the eye teeth of fullbacks sliding in with knees or feet and get a warning from the ref. YOU CAN'T DO IT…F***ING PENALISE THEM!!! 8 POINT TRY!!! ARGH!!! Sorry, but as soon as the refs actually just STFU and officiate the actual 'rules' and stop calling players by their names (or worse, nicknames) and penalise indiscretions, the better! Anything goes in SoO apparently…well I'm sick of it!!!

I'd say QLD made a half dozen or so legitimate attacks on the NSW try-line too. Don't recall NSW doing that.

The Hayne Plane carried plenty of passengers too - T-Rex, Merrin (seriously…wtf?!?), Reynolds, Watmough, Tamou, Hoffman.

Sure, NSW defence was good, but the way they carried on after winning that match, I'd hate to be wearing sky blue waiting for the Maroons to kick off for Game II.

And before anyone gets miffed, I'm a Blues supporter :p

However, Paul Gallen is a machine. Just an absolute legend. I hope there isn't an asterisk over his career thanks to ASADA, Dank etc, because I would cry. Give me 12 more Gallens, a Farah and the Morris lads!!!

I have been over this 'knees on the tryline' stuff for years now - they use their knees for a purpose and should be penalised accordingly.

Did Hoffman play? lol
Tamou - Mr 100% - yeah right - maybe 25% at best
T-rex as ball player is a new 1 and didnt achieve anything other than giving him time on the field.
Reynolds will be out for sure - it was deliberate - i did 1 of those in my younger years and the players mum ran on the field abusing me and i desereved the abuse.
The refereeing was very poor indeed - laughable even, if you could get past the anger.

As they say and i always profess - Defence wins games and it showed last night.

NSW deserved the win but the 7m the ref's kept between the sides was ridiculous. Thurston's key play at origin has always been to take it to the line, dummy to the lead runner and give it out the back to GI, hopefully with a bit of room. Whilst NSW did defend well the lack of a decent 10m aided their defence massively.

this is correct, although i thought hodkinson played how thurston usually does, hodkinson copped a few huge hits going right to the line to give hayne the space he needed to do the damage he did
