Official ESP 2016 NRL Traders Thread (Sell Sheet Page 14)

Any one still buying starter packs (from new stock arriving at newsagencies) and noticing that there is not as many hits coming out as when the starters were first released?

I know its luck of the draw etc but a few people have said to be about how low the hits have gotten in them. Busted 36 packs myself which were pretty awful

With 36 packs equaling a box how well does it match up compared to buying a box.

A friend of mine bought 2 starters and got:

1st starter: 2 blacks one insertless pack
2nd starter: 1 fotg 1 black 1 insertles pack

Just goes to show what a gamble a starter pack can be.

Broke the remainder of the packs I had yesterday, PF and a couple of club heroes but didn't expect much as the box had already produced on the first half.
Over all produced about what you would expect although no SAS or SASG. In all Ive busted a box, 13 starters and 5 albums so 85packs.
Power forwards and retirements are 1:72
3PF and one retirement so well ahead 2 SASB so maybe a little ahead of what you would expect, only one cyber hero so down a little but everything else is pretty much on the money for the number of packs opened.
I think 3 packs that only had a standard parallel, everything else had another insert of some description with all of the 1:18 or more inserts placed in the pack backwards.

Agreed... Second lot of starters has been very average....

Gordon & Gotch (Newsagency suppliers) are currently out of stock on starters and albums, not sure on boxes as I haven't tried to order any additional boxes.
One thing that has got me wondering is what happens to the case cards considering newsagencies, convenience stores etc are being supplied by the box with no option to order a case?
Do esp supply G&G cases or boxes, if so are there case cards in them and what do G&G do with them? What happens to the case cards from boxes esp break for starters albums and promos. Has to be a lot of case cards floating about somewhere.

I have opened a few albums, 20 or so, so 40 packets, def hit above ratios even snared a SAS signature. Its purely pot luck from a bunch of loose packets.

I've done about 10 starter packs so around 30 packets (from two separate outlets), I got standard minor inserts, 2 Power forwards, no retirements, no GS, no SASB, no SASG but 1 SAS sig. I may have got lucky with both outlets and surprised I didn't get any SAS parallels.

Billy Slater SAS Sig from first packet of first starter for me.

The total randomness of them is what makes them fun in my opinion. I'd much rather buy them than boxes...unless there is evidence that unsold stock is being broken down and put in them, because that could open it up for all sorts of abuse.

I hope that is just a rumour and to be honest I would be surprised if they are filling starters from broken boxes already. We are 3 weeks into the release, the initial allocation for starters was around 300 cases I think. That is 144 starters per case so this is over 43000 starters made.

More than that where would half broken boxes be coming from this early in the release. Newsagents haven't returned stock and they wouldn't have anything to do with making starters.

A bunch of 2014 Elite starters were bought into NZ, these were made up of newsagent product returned to ESP. This was well after release date obviously.

I cant see 2016 Traders being filled from empty boxes, they would just be stock that would have otherwise ended up in boxes/cases and across all starter packets odds would be pretty accurate I reckon.

I think the return date for Newsagencies is around Oct, if any have been returned early I would guess they would more than likely be unopened boxes, starters and albums so not really a issue as far as Im concerned.

I remember that and I think this was the reason that starters were properly sealed from 15 Traders.

I remember the starters from 13 Elite that weren't sealed and could be popped open. I saw a stack for $8ea at a card show and thought there is no way these are not from searched boxes

For what it's worth, I'd agree that Starter Pack hits have dropped off. I've bought one or two Starters almost daily since release date and early on pulled an SAS Gold and Black, two Cybers and two Retirements. Nothing much better than Faces and PS's this last week though.
