I really rate Thibs as a coach but he really runs his guys in to the ground. I'm pretty sure Deng logged the most mins last season (may be one reason he's had a bunch of niggle injuries this year).
What a great run of games today, hard to pick winners, but good to see a heap of close ones on a Thursday
I don't care what anyone thinks, I always love hearing David Stern speak/interviewed. Insight, humour, sarcasm - must have so many stories would love to get a half hour convo with him
Who thinks Clips signing Hedo is a good idea? I sure don't!
Still, Turkoglu has played in just 11 games since the start of the 2012-13 season due to various injuries including a broken hand and a fractured cheekbone. He has not appeared in a game this year and was waived by the Magic, his fifth team, on Jan. 3.
Turkoglu has averaged 11.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 897 games. He played with Matt Barnes and J.J. Redick in Orlando, including starting all 24 games for the Magic in their run to the NBA Finals in 2009. Turkoglu’s postseason experience is as much of a part of his appeal as anything. He’s made two conference finals appearances and played in 93 postseason games in addition to nine games in the World Championships with the Turkish national team.
That experience, according to Rivers, makes Turkoglu, who effectively is expected to fill the role that the team envisioned for since-waived Stephen Jackson a month ago, a seamless fit in the locker room.
The Philadelphia 76ers have cleared rookie center Nerlens Noel for “limited on-court work,” but several benchmarks remain before he can return to game action, the team announced Wednesday night.
Noel, who suffered a torn ACL in February while playing for Kentucky, visited Dr. James Andrews in Florida last week.
The Suns spent two days here, where center Emeka Okafor has been living with his family while doing rehabilitation for a herniated disk with a cervical spine specialist since last summer. He is indefinitely out. He did not meet with the team. Okafor, 31, is in his final contract year on a $14.5 million salary. Insurance would cover about $5.8 million for the Suns if Okafor does not play this season for health reasons. Arizona Republic - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#sthash.TkRjkWco.dpuf
Nothing says January like some good old fashioned NBA trade rumors. With the trade deadline of February 20th quickly approaching and the Sixers eyeing a way to get even worse, Philadelphia is beginning to work the phones. Sources have expressed to Liberty Ballers that Philadelphia is stepping back from any trade negotiations for Thaddeus Young, and attempting to push a package of Evan Turner and Spencer Hawes. The source also went on to say that a few teams have shown interest, although rather minute, and no deal is close to imminent. Already donning a gray Clippers long-sleeve shirt and black team-issued sweatpants, longtime NBA veteran Hedo Turkoglu made more than a week of speculation official. After working out for the Clippers on Jan. 9, the team finally agreed to terms with the free agent forward Thursday as they prepare to leave for a seven-game east coast road trip. “It feels great,” Turkoglu said. “I’m really excited, a little bit nervous. It’s a new chapter for me. This is my 14th year and I’m just really happy to be a part of this great organization.” NBA.com - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#sthash.TkRjkWco.dpuf
