Who thinks Clips signing Hedo is a good idea? I sure don't!
Still, Turkoglu has played in just 11 games since the start of the 2012-13 season due to various injuries including a broken hand and a fractured cheekbone. He has not appeared in a game this year and was waived by the Magic, his fifth team, on Jan. 3.
Turkoglu has averaged 11.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 897 games. He played with Matt Barnes and J.J. Redick in Orlando, including starting all 24 games for the Magic in their run to the NBA Finals in 2009. Turkoglu’s postseason experience is as much of a part of his appeal as anything. He’s made two conference finals appearances and played in 93 postseason games in addition to nine games in the World Championships with the Turkish national team.
That experience, according to Rivers, makes Turkoglu, who effectively is expected to fill the role that the team envisioned for since-waived Stephen Jackson a month ago, a seamless fit in the locker room.
