^ I guess the "friendship" between Allen and Rondo kinda helped Allen sign with MIA...
It sucks that the good teams are getting better right now, but then again, some of the badder teams are getting good too. Just not sure which one of those two the Mavs slot into, LMAO!!
I STILL don't understand Brooklyn's trade packages. Seriously, and I'm sure someone else, ala OKC or CHI, etc, could package a better deal than anyone out there, have a serious run at the championship, let Dwight go if his arse won't re-sign, and spend the $18m on someone big in the off season. It's certainly do-able, and IMO, a better plan than to ship him to the Nets for Lopez, and a bunch of picks. They still need to lock up Lopez, which is most likely via S&T with Brookly, and in which case, does ORL get a say in the contract? What if they're not happy with the $ value?
Just doesnt make sense to me!
I read on that form Andy posted above, that apparently the Cavs GM was one that opposed the CP3 trade, as they were against good teams getting better, which are doing the same thing right now, in helping Brooklyn load up on stars... D-Will, JJ, Crash & Dwight is a solid 4/5. I don't imagine their bench will be nicely filled out, but role players don't have to play big minutes to be successful. Just ask MIA.
Well as I said in the Nets thread, I'm still iffy if I want Dwight on the team or not. If we keep Lopez and Hump then I'm pretty happy with that for the most part. However, having Dwight WOULD be great - just don't think we NEED him and I am a bit worried about his back, don't want to go another season without a C.

After agreeing to a contract buyout with the Utah Jazz, guard Raja Bell wants to explore the possibility of signing with his hometown Miami Heat, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. The Los Angeles Lakers also could emerge as a potential destination for Bell, sources said. Bell, 35, played his high school and college basketball in Miami. Bell chose a three-year deal with the Jazz over less money with the Lakers two years ago, despite a hard recruiting sell by Kobe Bryant. With addition of Steve Nash, the Lakers are in the market for defensive-minded guards to play off the bench. Bell has been considered one of the NBA’s toughest veteran guards, but his skills have declined as he's aged. Nevertheless, Bell could still bring significant value and presence in limited minutes for a contender. Yahoo! Sports

Because they executed a sign-and-trade with the Rockets, the Knicks can now sign point guard Jason Kidd, their other prized free-agent acquisition, to their full mid-level exception. The Knicks also intend to match the four-year, $28.8 million offer sheet that point guard Jeremy Lin recently signed with the Rockets.
The 38-year-old Camby played in 59 games last season with the Rockets and Portland Trail Blazers. He averaged 4.9 points and nine rebounds per game.
In the proposed deal, Howard, Jason Richardson and Earl Clark would be sent to Brooklyn, and the Magic would receive the Nets' Brook Lopez, Damion James, Sheldon Williams, Cleveland's Luke Walton and three future first-round picks, sources said. Cleveland would receive Orlando's Quentin Richardson, Brooklyn's Sundiata Gaines, Kris Humphries (on a one-year guaranteed deal), a first-round pick and $3 million from the Nets. Brooklyn also would send Brooks to a fourth team to get them an additional first-round pick to send to the Magic.
