Official 2012-13 Offseason thread - trades, rumours, etc

WTF Orlando.... Your #2 guy last season is now leaving for a bag of potatoes and a half chewed mars bar....

They're certainly doing their best to entice surrounding stars to join Dwight and/or prepare for a package for Dwight trade!!

Still nothing on the Mavs, they still don't have a starting PG!

Nothing on the Mavs yet. Still a few god pg's out there, Fisher should be chased by them imo.

Lou Williams is another the Mavs should consider ave 14.9 ppg

^ Yeah I know they're looking at picking up Elton Brand, but I've said for days they need to go for Williams, Brand and CJ Miles. That's a start at rebuilding.

If they can entice Fish to sign on for a year, they might be able to get him to work with Jared Cunningham, they do need some form of veteran PG to lead him into that role.

Fish would be a perfect fit, Willams off the bench (replaces the lack of depth left by JET leaving) and Brand and Dirk up forward gives them a chance of competing.

^ I'd probably start Williams. He's a proven starter. Then look at D-West/Cunningham backing up the 1 & 2 spots with Fish in the mix somewhere.

Pretty sure we're in line to snatch up Brand, but who know's what's happening. This off-season has been one of the biggest with regards to stars changing teams, etc!

Still need another big, possibly Camby or Kaman type big. Unless we're looking at keeping Brendan Haywood on board. Brandon Wright still there, he's a PF/C and can fill the lane quite well considering. Just not as defensive bodied (bulk) as some of the other names mentioned.

So wait the magic traded there MIP for the fat kid from Charlie and the chocolate factory? Really??!

I like the clerics, and I like courtney lee, but isn't avert Bradley pretty much a lock to be starting at sg? I reckon lee deserves a starting spot on somones roster. I hope he looks elsewhere.

Well Bradley hasn't had surgery yet, maybe they are planning on a lengthy rehab for him and lee is short term answer?

^ yeah AK could be a match also. Depending on IF he comes back, and what he's after per year.

LOL at the charlie and chocolate factory comment!!

Yeah Bradley's out isnt he? So they'd need some form of short term answer as Norm pointed out.

yeah i love that we picked up ryan anderson... he'll be earning some decent coin but another young piece being added to our team... possibly play him at the 4 with davis at the 5 at times? but a better frontcourt would be anderson @ sf, davis @ pf and a very big IF, if they can re-sign kaman then then he starts @ the c position... backcourt of jack, gordon (if he doesnt continue to sulk) and rivers coming off bench as 6th man... then aminu, xavier henry, darius miller all off the bench fas some nice young forwards - now need to pick up a couple of back up guards

wont be a bad roster at all :)

Hate to say it but can't see Gordon being there at seasons start!

yeah normy ive been thinking about this a bit actually...

if you're the hornets, do you reluctantly let him go? he seemingly feels slighted by the hornets for drafting austin rivers who plays a similar position. at the end of the day, you dont want a player representing your team that doesnt really want to be there potentially being a cancer on the team and sulking the whole time - you will never know if he is playing hard and really trying to win. he is silly though, hornets will have a better core than phoenix and can rise quicker through the league. management is only trying to make the team better and it's a pity he doesnt see it that way... just another selfish nba player with an overinflated ego... this is the one thing i hate about the NBA and will continue to be an ongoing frustration.

maybe let him go to phoenix in a sign and trade where he is stating he really wants to be... question is, what can the hornets get in return for him? they have a bunch of forward theyll likely want to let go of but we dont need that, we need guards - if he could return marcin gortat, who is a very serviceable big man, id be very happy with letting him go : )
