Mavs should SOOOO target Lou Williams! Quality PG, and definite starter! Fuck Sessions!

Also, hopefully a good quality big man pickup if the Mavs can secure Brand. Hopefully the offer him a 2-year deal, rather than straight up 1 year.

Yeah what I meant was by trading for him and then waiving him via amnesty, the team would shed around $8m straight away, hence he holds trade value.

Mini mid level exception of $3.09m/yr instead of $6m/yr offered by Celtics.

Jet Terry addition makes it easier to deal with.

If Ray Allen is part of the big 3 in Boston, will this signing equate to a Big 4 in Miami?

I don't think that is possible mate. I read somewhere that players traded for after the new CBA, were not eligible to be amnestied.

No. Ray Ray, as good as he is from outside, is only a bit/role player now... No way in hell he equates to a "4th" in a big 4!! He will get minutes behind Wade.

I have no doubt at times the Heat will have Lebron, Wade, Ray and Bosh on the floor together. Wow.

I rate Ray Ray so highly, but him going to the Heat is pretty weak IMO.

I thought he was better than that.

Really bummed.

I know a lot of people will feel bad about Ray joining the heat but here's some things that has been happening lately with the Celtics in regards to his situation there.

Allen had a successful run with the Celtics, winning a championship in 2008 and reaching Game 7 of the NBA Finals in 2010.

After playing for the Milwaukee Bucks and Seattle SuperSonics, the UConn product returned to New England and flourished.

But Allen was unhappy this past season when he was nearly traded to the Memphis Grizzlies in March and again when he lost his starting job to Avery Bradley, a second-year guard who provided strong defense. There have also been reports that Allen has had conflicts with point guard Rajon Rondo.

Allen struggled through the final months of the season because of bone spurs in his right ankle and underwent surgery in June.
The Celtics were hopeful that Allen would return for another two seasons and were willing to offer him a no-trade clause or give him extra money if he was traded.

But Allen, who met with the Heat on Thursday, is moving on to provide Miami with an outside scoring threat that will open up the offense for James, Wade and Bosh.
Allen is the NBAâ€™s all-time leader in 3-pointers, breaking Reggie Millerâ€™s record.

The Celtics agreed to a three-year contract with Jason Terry earlier this week, and though he will provide scoring off the bench, the team wanted to have Allen playing alongside him in a reserve role. Instead, Allen has decided to take less money and end his stay in Boston.

and thats more than enough to challenge Miami

thats a bit harsh....ray allen is one of the stand up guys in the nba, if he wasnt happy in beantown why would you want to re sign? especially now they have jet, and bradley as a starter where does ray fit in?
why is signing with the heat any different from the original big three in boston being together in the first place? that was to get wins....

Yeah and that's all good in why he's leaving Boston. I've said before he does'nt get used often enough with Rondo coming on as the offensive player he is now (sometimes Rondo also takes too many shots when he should be passing IMO).

Ray deserves to get more looks.

I'm just disappointed he's gone to the team that they've had a huge rivalry with.

I guess you could say the same with Nash and I'm sure there are people out there saying that.

To me personally, I've just lost a little respect in him going to the Heat.

He should be at Boston, loading up with those guys trying to beat the Heat IMO.

I honestly have given up hope for a Lebron-Kobe Finals but this off season transactions seems to make me re-visit my hope.

Lewis is a pretender so that's no biggie, but Camby will be a huge addition wherever he goes. I'm hoping somehow that the Spurs can get him

Either way, I still think the Heat will be tough to beat.

for me it sounds like the rift with rondo and the losing on his starting spot puched the button. He could have got a starting spot somewhere else and more money which makes me think 1 last ring quickly before he's out. I like Rayray as a guy and a player just someone who has had success like Ray i would like to see him if he's gonna move take someone under his wing kinda thing not just settle for a role player at best cos i dont see him getting many minutes behind Wade unless they play Wade more at PG and slide Ray in at SG when Chalmers is off the floor.

Can't see Dwight going to LA, even so how long before he plays again. Will his back ever be the same? Metta is a hack, Gasol is too soft and Kobe's ego will crush Nash, nuff said!!
