Official 2012-13 Offseason thread - trades, rumours, etc

http://www.nba.com/2012/news/07/05/wolves-batum.ap/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt2

Holy Moly, if Batum indeed ends up in Minnesota, those T'Wolves start to look fantastic:

PG Rubio
SG Roy
SF Batum
PF Love
C Pekovic

Then with Chase Budinger, JJ Barea and Derrick Williams off the bench that is a very decent rotation. Trailblazers can still match the offer, but I would say that it will come down to either Hibbert or Batum, where if Indiana matches Hibbert's offer, then T'Blazers will go ahead and match T'Wolves offer and keep Batum. I cant see T'Blazers willing to move forward with their "Big 3" being Hibbert, Aldridge and Batum.

I'm sorry but I think you're dreaming.

Dwight is making his decisions and Dallas is not one of them so I can't see how it will be next year.

CP3 will not go to Dallas. I just can't see it.

Definitely a good thing having that cap space though. Cuban is right, teams are throwing silly money at some guys just to make a splash.

Not sure why CP3 hasnt locked himself up already, would have been in his benefit to lock up a max extension now already instead of opting out next season to sign on under worse conditions. Clippers won't have the same money to throw at him then either.

man there gonna be some loaded teams in the L now with the key signings/trades/draft picks they made...

Lakers - Nash, Kobe, World Peace, Gasol, Bynum... bench is complete garbage though
Nets - DWill, JJ, Crash, kept Marshon, need to re-sign Lopez, Dwight maybe?
Heat - Bron, Wade, Bosh, Chalmers, Battier, Rashard? Ray Ray?
Celtics - Rondo, Jet, Pierce, Garnett, Bass, Avery, the forgotten Jeff Green to be re-signed still, drafted well, maybe Ray Ray as well?
Thunder - Durant, Westbrook, Harden, just signed Thabeet - wonder if they can get something out of him?
Knicks - Melo, Amare, Tyson, Lin, Kidd, Novak, Shumpert, JR maybe?
Wolves - Rubio, Love, Roy, Batum, Budinger, Williams, Pekovic, Barea & possible Jordan Hill... this will be one hell of an exciting team to watch
Hornets - Davis, Gordon to be matched, Austin Rivers - should be fun young team who should get out and run
Clippers - CP3, Blake, DeAndre, Bledsoe, Butler, Billups, Jamal Crawford, Odom, re-sign Young & KMart?... this is a great looking lineup with some real x factors in Jamal & Lamar... can be anything
Suns - Beasley, Dragic, a stack of draft picks for Nash, loading up for the future - in rebuild mode but have done well all things considered
Blazers - Aldridge, signing of Hibbert would give them nice twin tower combo, Wes Matthews - need bolstering at plenty of other positions but would be nice start in post Roy/Oden era
Wizards - Wall, Nene, Okafor, Beal, Ariza, Vesely... a fair bit of talent here now, hopefully they can turn things around
Spurs - Duncan, Parker, Manu, & Co will continue to be solid
Kings - Cousins (should be up around 20/10 this season), Tyreke, Isaiah, Thomas Robinson, Thornton, Thompson, Fredette - exciting young team
Bobcats - BG7, Kidd-Gilchrist, Kemba, Augustin, should get up and down the floor a bit and should improve (not hard to do LOL)

Others been quiet and/or havent really improved...
Mavs - have lost some really key guys and not replaced them... tough offseason for what is normally one of the L's most sought after destinations
Sixers - not done much so far in off season
Raptors - getting Fields & Lowry is nice but hardly a game changer
Pacers - losing Hibbert would be a huge blow & tough to replace
Rockets - have made some strange moves, losing both Dragic & Lowry but signing Asik... havent improved - making a run for Dwight maybe?
Hawks - cleaning house and trying to change things up for this perennial playoff team that just cant seem to get to the next level
Orlando - look for some tough times ahead for Magic unless they can pull a blockbuster trade for the big man
Bucks - havent progressed much
Bulls - have stood still... reality is that this is a quality team who's success relies on D Roses' health
Nuggets - re-signed Andre but havent been all that active in off season
Pistons - starting to stockpile some nice young talent but not likely to be a hell of a lot better for now

With even more still to do down, this is gonna be a belter of a season coming up!

I'm going to the US in Nov (Vegas, Chicago, Miami, Orlando, New York, San Fran, LA) so hopefully I can catch a few nice matchups while Im there : )

The new CBA is why he hasn't.

Mavs have some room for movement, but with no real valuable assets, its impossible to make a trade. Haywood's contract was almost most certainly to be voided, but we may wait until next season for the next crop of free agents. With Deron, Dragic, Lin and Nash now all unavailable and Jet and Kidd finding new teams, we have to by all certainties get Ramon Sessions. It looks like we are interested at the very least-http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/222105/Mavericks_Reach_Out_To_Ramon_Sessions

Something like a 3 year 25mil contract is probably about what he will sign for hopefully.

Haywood still holds a lot of value believe it or not. Given he can be amnestied, someone could instantly shred $8m!

He only holds value if the team can do an amnesty, a player himself doesn't hold amnesty. ;)

Lebron should be getting 25 really. Especially if Kobe gets 30.

Wade is worth more like 17 - 20, Bosh up there also.

We all know they took less money. I mean, Joe Johnson is on like 28??? Crazy. But when you're not a top level team, you have to pay top $$$ for those kind of guys.

Haha.. LBJ is on $17,545,000 for 2012 and JJ is getting 19, not 28 lmao

Lou Williams parting way with the 76ers

This would be awesome for the Knicks!

Al Iannazzone: I am hearing Randy Foye is a possibility for the Knicks. But they have other things they need to settle. Foye would be a good fit. Twitter

The Nets keeps adding superstars!
