Official 2012-13 Offseason thread - trades, rumours, etc

Many won't agree with me, but I have seen other atheltes cop the same sort of injury, hard to return to 100%, very rare that they do!

Yeah you're right. Hopefully he can still be as explosive, if not, there is plenty of room to improve with Rose.

He will be scary if he becomes a better passer and scorer.

Might just add a couple more MVP's.

I do... Mentally, it will be hard not to think of the possibility of re-injurying that knee.

I just realised the Heat have said they are looking for a pg too, Fisher was mentioned. Maybe Sessions would be the way to go till Cole gets more experience.

What ever happened to Smush Parker?

I worry that rose could be the next penny hardaway...top of the world one day, injuries ruin their career the next!...hope im wrong...
Nash a laker...me likey, me likey a lot!!!! everyone stays healthy improve the bench a little and maybe a title run is there!
Still think boston could be a surprise next season, everyone healthy, bradley back, wilcox back, have signed the jet, drafted well, could still resign allen and green still, and who knows if they can pick up some other talent, i reckon they still have a shot, as much as i hate to admit it...
feel for Dallas, they just couldnt catch a break...oh well...

Well..... pretty gay that the Fakers picked up Nash. I've always liked Nash and now he's gone and ruined his rep and is gonna go play for that sorry bunch.

But as others have said, they just keep getting older, especially if they add Hill haha..... why not add Kidd as well? :p

Forgot about brooks!

After trading Kyle Lowry, the Houston Rockets are searching for a starting point guard. While they have offered restricted free agent Jeremy Lin a four-year, $30 million offer sheet, Houston is also considering several other options. The Rockets will meet with restricted free agent Aaron Brooks this weekend, according to sources close to the situation. After signing Goran Dragic and drafting Kendall Marshall, it’s unlikely the Phoenix Suns will match a large offer sheet for Brooks. HoopsWorld

News on Jameer, staying with the Magic

Chris Tomasson: Steve Mountain, Jameer Nelson's agent, says the contract Nelson will sign with the Magic next week is for three years. Twitter

Nelson, 30, rejoined the only team he’s ever played for in the NBA after spending four days as a free agent. The veteran point guard exercised an opt-out clause in his contract on Friday, officially became a free agent on Sunday and agreed to a deal on Thursday morning. He’ll sign his new contract with the Magic on July 11, the first day that NBA free agents are allowed to finalize contracts with teams. ``It’s great. This is the place that I wanted to be and to know that they wanted me back is a really great feeling,’’ Nelson said. ``I’m just glad we were able to come to an agreement. I’ve said it before and I mean it – I love the City of Orlando. The city has embraced me and watched me grow as a professional. And obviously, the DeVos family and the organization mean so much to my family, and they played the biggest role in me being back here.’’ NBA.com

In an unforeseen reversal,Jason Kiddhas decided to leave theDallas Mavericksto join theNew York Knicks, according to sources familiar with the decision.
With the Mavericks confident that they were closing in Thursday on a verbal agreement on a three-year deal with Kidd worth $9 million, sources told ESPN.com that Kidd -- after all-day deliberations with both teams -- has decided instead to leave Dallas to join the Knicks for a similar deal.

With no starting PG, the Mavs BETTER re-sign D-West!!!

Else, they're gonna be left with no choice to either start Cunningham, OR throw big money at a FA for 1 year, and then luck out again next season! Pfft!!!

The contract can't actually be signed until July 11, which is the first day new NBA contracts can be signed. It's also possible, one source said, that Kidd could ultimately move to the Knicks in a sign-and-trade deal. ESPN.com

It's do-able, but they'll need to throw some serious coin out, and possible more so if they only want to do 1-year deals, cos these guys will want multi's, but if we can sign Camby, Landry, Randolph, Miles/Roy/Young/Howard?, and Fisher (mentor role), we can still compete.

At this stage, with Dirk, Matrix, VC & Co, we're going to fail incredibly bad.

Gotta feel for Dirk. Dude's aging, and his window for another title has pretty much just closed.

how pissed has Dirk gotta be, Mavs have done nothing to help him get back to the championship. If anything they've let even more players leave.

Dirk is the only one worth anything. He is the Franchise face and won't be going anywhwere!
yeah, just looked at their roster. They've got 2 old players signed up for 3 years in carter and marion.

Marion looked to be the only one with any sort of value, but why would a team take him. They do also have about 10 million in trade exceptions
