There's a big difference between taking a few recreational drugs and taking performance enhancing drugs... Nearly everyone has taken recreational drugs in their lifetime, be it ecstasy, marijuana or alcohol. If people want to judge...alcohol causes many more deaths and accidents than any other drug and destroys a lot more people's lives. It might be legal but it's a hell of a lot more harmful than any other drug.
I find it funny how Joey gets crap from people because he used a few party drugs when back in the day players used to get drunk all the time, drink at training and even at games. The guy was also suffering from bipolar disorder unmedicated and unless you live that hell every day of your life you have no idea what you will do just to try and forget the pain.
I don't see the difference at all, both are illegal, alcohol does not and should not factor into the equation as it is legal. The whole point as I see it is to investigate the role of organised crime and their influence and the use of drugs in sport.
Im suprised that Abott and co. havent gone on a full on attack on this on the way it has been handled, especially that first press conference that was broadcasted across the world that aussies sports stars are drug chreat.Plenty of performance enhancing drugs are legal.......just like alcohol.
Either way the Gillard government is laughing their arse off that this report with seemingly no actual evidence of wrong doing has been keeping their incompetent and corrupt arses off the front pages for the last week and a half.

Abbott is far too incompetent to do soIm suprised that Abott and co. havent gone on a full on attack on this on the way it has been handled, especially that first press conference that was broadcasted across the world that aussies sports stars are drug chreat.
At the end of the day you have to ask yourself and answer honestly as i did in a Qusetionaire this week!
Are illegal drugs prevalent in sport - My answer was obviously -Yes
So if i believe all sports have illegal drug users and they are not being caught out then it is obvious that the Actual Sports themselves must have some connection, however or whoever it might be, to the Anti-Doping agencies.
Which is most important? The Athelete or the Sport!
Can a drug cheating Athelete bring down a Sport? Yes
Make up your own mind i guess, but is Illegal Drugs in Sport prevalent? In my opinion, it just gets covered up and always will!
Curious why you would think illegal drugs in sport are prevalent?
I would answer no at this point in time. based on prevalent meaning widespread / common. Do they exist in sport? yes. Prevalent? No.
Which illegal drugs you talking Ross.
Recreational drugs like ecstasy i would say most definitely - performance enhancing - No
Both. I agree there would be more doing recreational drugs but still only a minority, not prevalent.
