K rant

Oh, and to answer the original purpose of this thread before it got LeJacked, if we can imagine that Jordan was at the same stage of his career as Durant is now, even knowing how Jordan's career played out and because I haven't put my foot in my mouth enough lately, I'd still be taking Durant over MJ because being a Minnesota fan I think I 'Kahn' take that risk! C'mon KD, keep on growin in every way possible

You never answered my question :D
Your question was answered before you even wrote it :D

Yes i would still take Lebron to build a team around over Durant no doubt in my mind. His all around game makes it a no brainer for me.
What i'd like to see is SPO coach a game right and play 'Bron on the Durantula all game and let the other Miami players do their job of stopping OKC's other guys. We may have ourselves a much better series then.

I was watching ESPN this morning and they had some "stats" on when Durant was guarded by LeBron and the rest of the team, With Lebron guarding him 1 on 1 Durant was 0-2 and had 2 TO's (The only 2 possessions Lebron guarded him) with the others guarding him he was something stupid like 15-18.

Back on topic, Durant goes alright :)

Players like MJ thrust the situation upon themselves. MJ came up with most of the Bulls plays and basically coached that team himself. It has been said many a time by former team mates this was the case.

The thing that disappoints me most about Lebron is he doesn't taken it upon himself to change that game. Like you said, the two poss he guarded Durant he forced 2 TO and Durant was scoreless. Then why the hell didnt he guard him the whole time. Stick his hand up and say I've got this one. He is the best defender on that Miami team so why wasn't he on the most dangerous player on the OKC side.

Will be interesting to see if anything changes today.

like I said happy to be proven wrong and the pure basketballer in me wants to see Lebron succeed.

I hear you man, again this comes down to coaching imo. You think Lebron didn't want to guard Durant?
Obviously SPO had a game plan and it didn't involve Lebron on Durant the whole game which i think is stupid along with him not starting Bosh.

Lebron basically carries the team and yet still has detractors when he cant be perfect for 100% of the game! As good as Wade is, he goes missing way too much to be an elite player. Much of this can be attributed to the set plays of the Heat, its like just throw the bloody thing to Lebron a hundred times a game.

I'd put Durant in the Melo category both great scorers and can shoot the lights out but what else do they have?
I agree with, and KD has Ibaka and Melo has TC.
Two of the NBA most offensive minded players and two of the most defensive minded players.

hahahaha! Gold!

You gotta give him points for creativity though! I for one am sick of 'firstinitial secondinitial jersey#'! CP3, DH12, DW8 etc etc. It seems to be the go to nickname! We need some creativity!!

And 'Durantula' is no good! The nickname has to be SHORTER than the normal name! Just like stupid aussies who add a 'y' 'sy' to the end of a name to make a nickname??? lol
