K rant

Kevin "Durian" Durant. Taken from Wikipedia: "strong and penetrating; some people regard (it) as fragrant; others find (it) overpowering and offensive. (It) evokes reactions from deep appreciation to intense disgust". Kinda like KD's game.
Lmao

i love both lebron and durant...two of my fav players outside of kobe...your right, durant seems to have the ability to just take over and in the fourth when it matters! I still think lebron is more devastating on both ends of the floor, but lebron sometimes tries too hard to be a team player when he should be taking over, watching lebron at his best, when he becomes more selfish...unstoppable, you name a player that finishes as strongly as he does, and if he misses he seems to get a offensive rebound a lot of the time also, fast, strong and atheletic = should be the most dominate in the game...
durant is just silky smooth, gets his shot off against anyone, knows how to take over, shoots a high percentage and makes great decisions, the only player that can stop durant is westbrook, as one analyst put a little while ago, defensivley he could improve still, though he has made a great leap in that area in such a short career, just seems to have the confidence and desire to lift that others dont and if they keep their core intact and add even another veteran role player or two...durant will get a fist full of rings...can anyone see okc and the heat being the new lakers boston showdown????

I bet Lebron has "intense disgust" for KD's game in game 1

Pretty much spot on IMO.
When you think about Lebron's size as almost exactly the same height and weight as my man Blair, yet Blair is fat and Lebron is ripped as a mofo, it is clear that he is the most physically dominant player in the game! To have his size and athleticism, is ridiculous!

Personally, I think the upcoming off season will be the deciding factor in whether or not the Heat and Thunder will be able to create a 'showdown' type dynasty. With the new CBA and the effects on the Luxury Tax becoming important, as well as the fact that Westbrook's max deal starts next season, along with the Harden and Ibaka issue. Not even to mention the salary space taken up by LBJ, Wade and Bosh!
It will come down to whether or not the owners decide to pay tax and go for rings or save money and take the chance!

I'd put Durant in the Melo category both great scorers and can shoot the lights out but what else do they have?

That's a bit harsh.... Melo is a great player at times, but no where near KD's level when it comes down to it. Melo plays defense when he "feels like it"; KD's defense has improved a LOT (and his passing for that matter) and he is always striving to become better and better.

Gonna shoot you in the face for comparing him to Melo! :goat:

Melo is not even in the same league as kd. Did durant not shit down Kobe in that series. I guess durant can't do much else except beat the teams who have won most of the past 12 rings...

lmao all im saying is i feel KD is more along the lines of a Melo type player who is more a scoring oriented player and a little one dimensional. I love his drive and focus i just can't see where he is better then Lebron in any part of his game other then his jump shot?

Here's an interesting little factoid i seen the other day.
Michael Jordan averaged 8pts in 4th quarters of playoff games over his career. Maybe Durant is better then him?

Ok So after watching this guy smash my poor spurs(no respect for the elderly!!) now I always had mj on his own little pedistel but this guy is seriously going to give it a good climb. First and most important this dude is a big game player and is clutch clutch. Play big play small, beat you off the dribble, shoot over you. Mj didn't get his first title till late 20s at a guess and and kd is about to deliver number 1 in his early 20's. Obviously he will have to sustain this over a career but he has a good head on hi shoulders and is leaving the so called king well behind...(come at me). He just spanked the 3 best teams in th west also!! Thoughts?
hmmmmmmmmm durrant has i think better back up then james yes i no i no james has wade by his side and not to mention bosh, but i thinks westbrook harden and ibarka are a much better fit, i no there roles on the court and just seem to fit better. But the scary thing is in how good they are already, if they stick together how good will they be in say 3 years??? james a better player but durrant a better fit.........

Another good example of Stats being over rated, you don't know how many 4th quarters he sat because the game was a blow out.

My point being you're delusional thinking Durant is a better player then Lebron simply because of an exceptional 4th quarter shooting performance in game 1 the other day.

If i were building a team from scratch and had the choice of the 2 to build around it'd be Lebron first pick every time.

As an OKC fan, I would still agree with that. But after this finals run, I might have to change my opinion and go with Durant. You say he's like Carmelo but I've never seen Durant give up on defense. He gives both offense and defense his 100% and if he can excel in this series right now, it'll show he has as good as, if not better, mentality as LeBron.

Except the Bobcats because they will be a few years away from a ring and Lebron's hairline will be a rats tail by then! :p

Quick to forget that he destroyed the spurs, swept the lakers while defending and stopping kobe, swept the reigning champs... Lebron has the potential but thats all it is at the minute, he HAS NOT delivered. I didnt catch all the second half of Game 1 but from what i saw lebron was not defending durant, if he is so versatile at both ends why keep hiding him??
