Ok So after watching this guy smash my poor spurs(no respect for the elderly!!) now I always had mj on his own little pedistel but this guy is seriously going to give it a good climb. First and most important this dude is a big game player and is clutch clutch. Play big play small, beat you off the dribble, shoot over you. Mj didn't get his first title till late 20s at a guess and and kd is about to deliver number 1 in his early 20's. Obviously he will have to sustain this over a career but he has a good head on hi shoulders and is leaving the so called king well behind...(come at me). He just spanked the 3 best teams in th west also!! Thoughts?

Stop being a hater! :p

Leaving the king well behind. I think not.

Yesterday, in the first game that matters, he absolutely schooled lebron on how to be a big time player in the 4th.... There is no time in a season, series or game that is more important then the 4th quarter of a finals game. Until lebron can find that instinct to completely take over in the 4th of a finals game his name does not deserve to be mentioned in finals talks along side names such as magic, Jordan, Kobe and soon to be Durant. Lebron is a once in a generation type of player, but until he shakes that monkey off his back he's always going to have a "but" added into conversations regarding his greatness.....

Even Westbrook did more in the 4th and we all know how you feel about him.

heh heh heh.... Monkey But! ;)

So 1 game means leaving a player "well behind"?

James and Durant - Head-to-Head All-Time (according to ESPN stats)
James Durant
Wins 7 2
PPG 26.8 27.3
FG pct 49.7 47.5
RPG 5.9 6.3
APG 7.1 2.9

Again, I mentioned this series and that finals matter the most. If he continues to do it and lebron continues to fail, then yes. As an overall player, as in stats and domination at both ends, then no, not yet and maybe never. But as a big occasion, big time player he has started well..... Another interesting fact, that gets lost amongst all the lebron loving, is that game 1 is the first time in 11 games he has scored 30 points in a finals game, that says more then a lot of people would admit it does.... I'm not a lebron, as a player, hater either the guy does stuff on court at both ends on a regular basis that no one else in the league can do.

Stats don't mean shit in my opinion. Dwight Howard probably has better stats than Ewing, Olajuwon, shaq, robsinon, who you gonna take? I guess we will take stockton ahead of d rose too.. As Ian Said k rant delivers when needed most and as I keep saying sport is about winning and this dude knows how to get it done.

Just for the record I'm no Lebron hater, in fact I think he is one of the most gifted to play the game, that last game against Boston he attacked and attacked the rim rim and that is what he needs to do, not be in this facilitator mind set. Your a 6'8 monster, dominate!!

K Rant? I've never heard him called that before and it doesn't even make sense. It's like calling Jordan, M Dan...WTF?

hahahaha! Gold!

You gotta give him points for creativity though! I for one am sick of 'firstinitial secondinitial jersey#'! CP3, DH12, DW8 etc etc. It seems to be the go to nickname! We need some creativity!!

And 'Durantula' is no good! The nickname has to be SHORTER than the normal name! Just like stupid aussies who add a 'y' 'sy' to the end of a name to make a nickname??? lol

Troll much?

Durant is a beast offensively no doubt about it but until he gets his defensive game in order old arse Kobe is still well above him. To say he'll be comparable to MJ is stupid!

Kevin "Durian" Durant. Taken from Wikipedia: "strong and penetrating; some people regard (it) as fragrant; others find (it) overpowering and offensive. (It) evokes reactions from deep appreciation to intense disgust". Kinda like KD's game.

Durian is one of my favorite fruits, gotta get it fresh though, the frozen stuff just doesn't cut it.

I did say mj is on his own pedistel but kd is climbing... Kobe well above?? Really?

I don't know what that shape inside the fruit is meant to be, but let's just say that I can see why it could be referred to as 'penetrating'!
