looking good - just a shame mid-2014 is so far away!
Great work Naz, they look fantastic.
Can not wait to see he finished product.
You and me both manHope I can do them justice with some good quality printing. Still not sure what to do with the reverse side of each card, whether to write a blurb and stats or leave it plain green. Design will be my biggest weakness, so will either need to find someone to donate their photoshop skills or pay for a graphic designer.
Lucky theres a few graphic designers on the site then that im sure would lend a hand![]()
None have volunteered so far. Are you putting your hand up?![]()
Naz, this is a great step forward - the dream is almost the reality hey?
Just an idea for the blurb (if you were going to do one instead of leaving it green) - as stats are such a "moving feast"' particularly due to the number of current players included, you could just have something like:
Name: Nazim
Teams: Australia, South Australia Redbacks, Melbourne Renegades, Surrey
First Class debut: 1994
Test Debut: 2003
ODI Debut: 2005
T20 Debut: 2010
Whch you could flog......borrow......off the cricinfo website or any Wisden.
Mate I think you need to include the signatures in the sets as random inserts. Otherwise I can see you getting stuck with sets. 1000 is a shedload and an incentive to buy more than 1 would see you get these sold quicker IMO.
I'm not sure what you paying for each signature but I also think $125 might be a little ambitious for signatures of New Zealand cricket players. Remember your market is Australians and 100 is still a lot of cards.
Sorry if that feedback is a little brutal but there is a fine line between success and failure and we all want to see this succeed..........also your poor wife needs that new car!![]()
Whats a reasonable price is a tough one to answer buddy as i dont know your input costs.
I see what your saying with signatures but i dont know what the magic answer is. Here are some random thoughts.
1. Are you being over ambitious with 1,000 sets? I know you need to make your money back on them but are you going to get stuck with 500 and lose money anyway? Are you better off having less sets but charging a little more.
2. Do you need to have 2 sets? One containing a set of commons and signatures and one containing just the common set. First sets are numbered to 100 and the rest are numbered out of 900.
3. Instead of the common set being 45 cards do you make is (for example) 35 and have 10 "inserts" in their randomly to give the incentive to buy more than one common set.
4. Surely now you have these NZ cricketers on board you can find some aussies that will sign for you. Once again i think its a lot to pay for a signature card of a Kiwi.
My best suggestion might be for you to do some more market reseach. I would use something like survey monkey and put it on here for people to complete. It would help give you an idea of what people want and how much they may or may not pay for it.
