Thank you! I am so glad that someone finally decided to make this statement. The truth is, the system ALWAYS makes the player. In all sports, your offense is dictated by the people who have as personal that can make it happen.

This though, does not take away from if you have talent on the team. Lin has talent, shooting 50% from the floor and 8 assists a game shows you this. Would he be as effective on a team like, lets say, the Lakers, I would say yes, but to what degree I am not sure.

I am NOT a Mike D fan at all. I am a hard nosed defense first fan as that is what I grew up with with the Knicks. However now the team is playing defense so I have no excuses to say its just a run and gun offense. The system works, but it wont work for all, as many others before Lin have not played to the grade.

So I am going to give Mike D a chance that he JUST might be someone that has a clue, where I would say before he didnt, and maybe Lin got lucky and is driven to be good at his craft, under a system and in a city where even Michael Jordan would be standing ovations for just getting off the toilet.
 
He is not that good and neither is d'atoni's system, you can not have 20 turnovers a game and expect to win titles.

Your opinion is based on being an arm chair super fan I assume? I can do the same and have, so your prognosis of the game plan is no more of a dart throw then mine.

However I am a bit more optimistic as I will look at all sides of the game and not just limit myself to thinking I know everything. I don't, however I do have the mindset to seeing outside the box and realizing that one, anything can happen and two, I can be wrong.

That point is correct, however you don't read. They cant win in run and gun, however they are now playing defense. So before engaging fingers with brain, do some research or follow the team and you will realize that they have been playing defense, they are not the worst team in the league by far in defense anymore. They by the power rankings published are sitting at number 10 for team defense. That is a far cry from last year when there were sharing the basement with a cast of characters.

This is not a LIN driven stat, its a team driven stat. I am not saying that they will win it all, far from it, however you have to give props to where its due, and as much as you dislike Mike D, I do also!!! I just now think he has the right chemistry with having a defense going in the right direction.

Lin plays defense, has a ton of steals in the games he has been in, that also goes into his stats. So tell me again, why is Lin over rated? Team sport is a concept that you are part of many. Lin fits that roll, full stop.
 
im not gonna argue with you. Have a look at who they have actually beaten lately, besides the lakers most are under 500, chi lost, bos lost, mia lost. when they beat some decent teams and lin actually beats some decent opponents i will listen.

You can only play the games on your schedule. Its funny, you must be someone who has to be completely right, because I have agreed with most of what you said, and you still troll. Relax my friend, its just chat, and when someone agrees with most of what you said, you do not need the last word... Geez
 
i dont have to be right at all, all im saying is the knicks are not that good and neither is lin. I hope your right and they provide some competition in the east although there are only 2 teams out there that are any good.

Now your talking, could not agree more.

See, I am a Knick fan from the late 70's. Have lived and died with them and to be honest, Charles Smiths lack of a jam killed my dream in the 90's at seeing the Knicks win the finals. I will also add John Starks in this as he should have never shot 2-19 or whatever it was. So I am optimistic, this is the coach I have and it seems he is finally getting everyones point. Lin is a product of the system, but so is everyone else. Its the attitude of playing with in the system and believing in it is what makes it work 60% of the time, the other 40% consists of everything else that you can imagine in a game situation.

Personally, with or without Lin, the Knicks are a 2nd round playoff team at best. I really think that the Thunder will win it all as they have younger legs then the Heat.

I think it's good too... great story an good for the game... He deserves it! Loving Knicks and NBA right now, Jr smith walk it out!!!
 
This story has nothing to do with anything in the US other than LIN.
If you have a 1/1 and only one person wants it, you get the starting bid.
If you have 1/100 and a billion people want it, you get big $.
LIN is bigger than the rest of the NBA combined right now, do I like it ? Not really, but it's still a great story. Just wears a bit thin after a while.
People are not telling to complete story by comparing him to LBJ. The Heat are title contenders, the Knicks are a 50% team, nothing more.
Personally Rubio highlights for me are much better to watch, sometimes you just laugh at what he does.

Whoaa, a fellow NYER is tired of hearing about anything good? I bet its better then hearing about fires on the Grand Concourse in the Bronx, a body washing up in the east river or a rat invasion in lower Manhattan?! Oh yeah, that is what I miss too!

For once, which I wish I was there to be a part of it, the back page of the Daily News does not have the Yankees or the most dysfunctional pro team in sports the METS on the back page. I would only hope with the year the Rangers are getting, Lin leaves just a little room for them!

I don't live in the Bronx, nor Manhattan... But I tell you one thing though, I am GLAD I don't live in NJ............lol
