stupid question probably but remind me why we need ikon?
They are one half of the distribution network. ESP manufacture and either consign or sell the stock to Ikon who on-sell to retailers. Think of Ikon as the new JHL.

thank god wangy has not got exclusive dealership rights, as we collectors would be paying upwards of $250 just for the set and more for the DCE card, I still cannot uderstand how he asks the prices he does.It does not all go to Ikon though. Unlike Wang its not an exclusive deal. You also have network services and also the ESP V8 Set was given to Rif @ Jajas to distribute.

So the DCE card is numbered but not the set although they say it is limited to 500.Hello all, my name is John Howard and I work at Ikon. I am not the sort of person that gets involved in forums but on this occasion I feel the need to clarify what will be happening with the Roosters set. I am not seeking dialogue on this matter, so please do not be offended if you post and I don't reply, because the truth is once I have finished passing on this information, I doubt I will ever return unless I need to pass on vital information to the collector community some time again in the future (I am 59 and not a card collector, so please respect my position). Contrary to information being passed around, Ikon will not be supplying these sets first-come first-served. We will be getting 100 sets and each will have a numbered Clive Churchill Medalist card. That card could not be included in the original set because it was a Manly player. We will not be getting the regular stand alone sets and will not be wholesaling that item - these will need to be purchased from ESP directly if any dealer wishes to range this item. Collectors will need to buy these from dealers or the Roosters shop.
Of the 100 "premium" sets with the limited card, Ikon will be allocating these to the dealers that have given the most support to the 2013 Rugby trading card program over all of the three releases. This allocation has already been done internally at Ikon and the dealers will be notified of their allocation (if any) over the course of the next week. We consider this to be the fairest and most equitable way of dealing with what we know will be a much sought after item. Dealers will have the discretion to deal with the item as they see fit or as the market determines ie. sell the "base" set for the SRP of $69.99 and deal with the bonus card as a separate item, sell both as package etc. Ikon will not be selling these sets to collectors - all of the 100 items that we will be receiving early November will be going to on-sellers in accordance with their support of the rugby card program.
Trust I have answered all the questions and clarified what is happening with this product.
Jaja's got it because Ikon did not want to touch the set with a 10 foot barge pole. Same with the premiership sets Ikon would only distribute if there was an incentive for them, the DCE card.
So the DCE card is numbered but not the set although they say it is limited to 500.
From what i can see is that ESP like to use the term "Limited Edition" without actually numbering cards.
There could be 1000 of this set and we would not know.
Did you not hear footypugs2011, the rooster have been caught cheating the salary cap and their premiership is null and void, so no cards produced...
