Never listened to a burnt Cd Leigh...
Never watched a burnt DVD???
Never had any Mixed tapes back in the day??
Never taped a show on TV, Heck... Never taped the game to watch it later???
..... I would hazard a guess that everyone here has done at some point.
ALL these things breach the same laws / copyrights as discussed here.
So before y'all grab your torches and pitchforks and head out on a witch hunt,
Ya might wanna expand your thinking a little...
The beast is too big, And decades old!!
It's in Film, Music, Basically all types of Media...
Everone here, has at some point dudded someone out of some entitlements, Without blinking an eyelid...
If you don't like the idea, Don't support it... Simple
And that's without even mentioning Sig hoarders who sell items... Can't imagine they're giving the players a kick back!!
Downloading = stealing = not paying = profiting...
Only difference is in the perception....
I have been getting these sets for years, I collect all cards, have been collecting all sets of english cards, having all cards in your collection makes your collection more thorough, as most of those sets are limited, those of you that have collected them will probably want them in years to come only to find out they are gone and waiting for someone to start selling there collection to get them.I seem to like these cards and it is good to see there numbered and another limited edition set.

Hence if you like collecting as a hobby you would want them,
If you want to get them to make money off, well stiff s***!
We collect them because we want them, people thats who we all are make money to survive, ie work etc, to eat and collect whatever we want.
If you like them and want them buy them and stop complaining.
It is good to see competion and something different.
Dynamic had a good run and got to greedy, look what happen to them, I spoke to select many times over the years about the format change of the order in where the teams finished at the end of the season/home and away, thats what order the next seasons cards will be in.
As for collating this information into a book, it would be good to see all cards in text error cards the lot as has been done in the past
Dynamic was all about the money otherwise they would not have made a million odd cards. They started in 1994 as we know 3 years before the super league conflict and flooded the market straight of the bat. They where that greedy they failed to pay Mal Maninga his endorsement after making all the money they could THAT IS GREED. Typical amercian company thinking big is better. They deserved to go broke. I hope esp is listening. So you're all for 'backyard' jobs that have no guarrantee of Authenticity, we all love our cards and it's only a handful who think it's all about the $$$, Dynamic were a victim of circumstances with the whole Super League thing erupting not because they were greedy, don't see too many Super League sets for sale on ebay but at least Dynamic tried to keep it going with the Fatty Fun Pack series, I have seen some of these go for big $$$*.
I don't think it mattered too much what Select tried because there are always pedantic people who complain at the drop of a hat, and I don't blame Daniel for keeping his book to solely 'Official' releases.
I got his point I am sort of sitting on the fence so to speak. I collect everything in NRL cards. All I was trying to say was dynamic made their bed and ended up laying in it because of their greed. You miss his overall point which was you can't compare home made cards with Dynamic or any other official licenced product.
yes ! they do not compare in quality, but then look how much they spent on the bastards, then flooded the market to get as much out of it as they could, look at all the different combinations of cards they released!!! some are still coming out of the woodworks, have you got all !!!!! of them. You miss his overall point which was you can't compare home made cards with Dynamic or any other official licenced product.
WERE ALL THE MEN OF STAMINA, DAVIES AND HERBET , ALLENS, MORROWS, CAINS, PALS, GOLDEN NUGGET BUTTER, WD & HO WILLS, RESCHS, ETC. OFFICIAL CARDS.So you're all for 'backyard' jobs that have no guarrantee of Authenticity, we all love our cards and it's only a handful who think it's all about the $$$, Dynamic were a victim of circumstances with the whole Super League thing erupting not because they were greedy, don't see too many Super League sets for sale on ebay but at least Dynamic tried to keep it going with the Fatty Fun Pack series, I have seen some of these go for big $$$*.

i DON'T THINK SO, BECAUSE ALL THE LEGALS WERE NOT IN ALL THAT TIME AND THE PLAYERS DID NOT GET ROYALTIES BACK THEN EITHER, THEY WERE ALL CLAIMED BY THE TOBACCO COMPANIES ETC. THEY WERE ALL PROMOTION CARDS STUCK IN PACKETS OF THERE PRODUCTS TO PROMOTE THERE OWN PRODUCTS, THATS WHERE THE PROFITS STAYED,
AND YET THESE ARE IN DANS BOOK.

I would have thought redemptions of 1000 that they were to release is a bit over the topSuper League actually had there official start on the 1st of April when the whole Vision of the Future was announced and it had an immediate impact on the game and not positively, while they may not have had their debut season until 1997 all the damage was done in the preceding years with millions and millions of $$$$ being spent on over the hill players and lining the pockets of player managers & Solictors & Barristers.
And exactly how did Dynamic flood the market when no one complains about Select having 2 releases per year with the second set being the Premium one much like Dynamic with the Masters, End Of an Era Impact and the Gold Signature sets which had very few Chase type of cards to obtain, the 1994 & 1995 sets were of 110 base cards & 1996 only 90 cards, and I am aware of a Series 2 from each year but these were more of an update as players not only switched clubs mid season but in the case of 1995 we saw 4 new clubs and the cards from Series 1 only featured head shots of players rather than action shots.
I am not angry, but I do see both sides of the fence and you have to have an open mind. Why are you so angry, you don't have to shout to make your point!.
Don't forget there was a card boom at the time (not just RL but worldwide) and at that stage they were just meeting demand.I would have thought redemptions of 1000 that they were to release is a bit over the top
I am not sure if you know but dynamic contracted Mal to a 200,000 contract to have him as the promotional player for dynamic cards. They reneged on there deal. No wonder he does not sign cards. Thanks for endorsements dynamic.Dynamic didn't flood the market, it was easier to keep my club collection going back then than it is now, and I was 14 in 1995, so wasn't exactly loaded!
I think the general downturn in the trading card business, plus the Superleague war which reduced the popularity of league in a huge way combined to send them bust.
As for players not being paid royalties way back in the day, those cards were still authorised by the clubs/NSWRL, unlike the rlcards ones. The comparison to cards produced 40+ years ago doesn't really stack up.
