2014 ESP Elite info discussion thread (Flyer P22 - Checklist P41)

To The Names Gould.I don't know where you get your info from but as someone living in Newcastle and who goes to all Knights games home and away I can tell you a few facts about Darius Boyd.He has been our best player the last month and was no different to any other Knights player who was pissed off with the club when he wasn't being paid as im sure you would be as well if your employer wasn't paying you.And to say he refuses to do things is crap. The fact is since Tinkler took over we have not had one members or fans day except for the season launch.NIL NOUGHT ZERO.So besides the season launch which they ridicoulously held on a weekday when most people are at work there has been no other chance for him to do anything except for after the games and at training where he will sign anything and pose for photos and engage in conversation with supporters. So I suggest you get your facts right before you bag him.

Can get a benji Marshall 1/130 for the same price as a heighington 1/600.
And the elite is a MUCH better quality card...
I don't know why, ESP prices don't hold. But I know that $100 for a 1/130 future immortal slater is very f**kin cheap!!

^ my point exactly. thats what i was saying, nothing they have made so far has held any sort of a value, but selects stuff always does. maybe wangy has a slight part to do with that but even still selects productions runs were spot on, and esp havent hit the mark yet.

Select had a lot longer time with the ball than ESP...
I'll tell you one thing, any benji Marshall I come across going for $100 is mine!! I think it's a combination between wangy letting out stock and dictating the market, maybe it has to do with ESP trying to hit the growing running... What I am more interested in, is will you be crabbing on about the value being held for ESP cards in 5years... Or kicking yourself in the face because you didn't buy them when they were $100 and less... I'm not a betting man, but if I was I'd be betting on the latter

The Elite Signatures are well under valued at the moment. I've seen Future Stars go under $50 and Sensations go under $70.....if anyone here is selling at that price please let me know.

I think what needs to be taken into consideration is the League Sensations were 1 per 3 boxes. Select redemptions were 1 per case (minimum 10 boxes per case, some more). Although the print run on the LS were quite small there were a minimum 3 times the hits with them.

Forgetting the individual players and just looking at the Select sigs and ESP sigs collectively there were 400 redemption sigs (100 each I think) in the Dynasty run. The LS run was 2080 (16 players x 130).

In my opinion there's your price difference. Like Aron said they started at around $250 but I don't think they were ever worth anywhere near that.

In saying that I think I paid close to $200 for a GI from memory. Ha

Another thing to keep in mind, this time around Elite will have League Sensations and Young Guns...... some of which are decent players who have a year or 2 + under their belts (Tedesco etc).... not players who have yet to break into first grade..... these should be more highly sought after.

Bottom line (and the only things worth considering)
1: who's the player
2: how many is there

JT will go down as one of the biggest personalities in the game... EVER!! 1/130.
Thems good numbers....

Its got nothing to do with how many commons you sift through. The ratios are to do with how much you spend in boxes to get one.

If ratios mean jack s*#t then 6 sigs per box would be worth the same as 1 per case. That's bulls*#t.

Well, when I go back to by a future force from 2001... Do I go back and check the ratios? No... No I don't!! In ten years time, the player, the team and the number of cards will dictate the price!! Nothing more, nothing less

Not wanting to derail the thread, but I read that here: http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/...nts-at-nrl-side-newcastle-20140517-zrfsq.html "It is understood that while Boyd has maintained all his on-field commitments, he has been left furious with his contractual wrangle. It is understood he has skipped club functions and is refusing to sign club jerseys, which players do after most training sessions. Boyd did not attend the club's season launch in February, with the club citing ''personal reasons'' behind his no-show." Sorry if I've been mislead by that article.

As for his performance, according to these stats: http://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl...s-greg-alexander/story-e6frf3su-1226918674266 he was the most poorly performing fullback in the competition this time last month ... admittedly he had a good game against Wests, but one good performance a month does not justify the amount of money he is paid imo, he should be doing a lot better. Just my opinion though. :)

you went against your own point earlier. with the chris heighington / 600.

those were one in 4 boxes as opposed to a future force which are 1 per box. yet you pay triple the price for a heighington because it takes 4 times as many commons to get one despite having twice the print run.

clearly it has everything to do with it.

No I didn't...
My point is, the LS's are TOO CHeAP!!
why is a 1/600 card of a sharks bench warmer as expensive as a 1/130 golden boot winner?

I don't begin to understand it mate, I don't believe the LS will be around under $100 in a few years...

Don't believe what you read in a Sydney paper. There are no club functios to skip because Tinkler never cared about the fans and he has never refused to sign anything for anyone that ive seen.

Ranging from a Scott Prince for $80 to a JT for a bargain $495. Oh and #1 Milford for a reduced price of $999.99
