2013 ESP Elite NRL Cards Thread (Updated 5/8/13)

Well I just got my butt kicked by Terry at ESP for standing up and saying that I believe it is wrong for ESP to be meddling in the retail price a business wants to sell at. You see I took everything I heard and wrote to the NRL, now I understand ESP does not like that but I say tuff shite.........everyone seems to winge and bitch about what was happening but no one wanted to do anything about it.

So I did........there goes my connection with ESP..........sorry guys.

Good work Dave I agree with you. ESP is shocking with how they are treating us collectors. Tell Terry to go jump. If he doesn't like us speaking the truth then maybe he should change the way they do things. I think now being confirmed they won't ever release a checklist prior to cards going on sale that will affect there presales of cases. I for one won't be buying any boxes in the future knowing that I won't know who is on them.

In relation to the delay its unfortunate but I know that ESP were trying other avenues to gets the cards off the boat and expedited to sellers.

For the checklist id love to have it prior to release, but even Panini in the US only releases their checklists on the day of release.

Me too. Cant wait to find out who all the sigs are.

For the League Sensations Signatures we know of so far:

Paul Gallen
Billy Slater
Tim Grant
Scott Prince
Shaun Johnson
Ben Barba

also heard a strong rumour that its Benji Marshall from the Tigers. If that's true, its 7 out of the 16 players we know of.

Cheers
Matt

I don't care what other company's do it it's just poor form to not let your customers know what they are buying beforehand. Doesn't make sense.

Well done Dave.=D> =D> =D> Stuff Terry & ESP & their attitude & disrespect for us collectors has reached boiling point with me as well.
I think all members on this site should put pen to paper & write to NRL & complain about how ESP are conducting themselves & their bulling & standover tactics & disregaurd of all NRL collectors. We should request that the NRL put ESP on notice to get their act together or POQ. I better go take a valium now before I get Sin Bined....... ESP.:red: :red: :red: :worthy: :worthy: :worthy:

I am just waiting for the MSG putting me in the bin for 10...........:)..............of and while this was all going on I was opening 2 Centenary Boxes and pulled the Clive Churchill Redemption.

I Feel us collectors are being punished for the deed's of re seller's if that is the truth about why checklist was not released yesterday at the show.
I wonder if this series late Arrival has anything to do with it.
Some collectors collect certain players so withholding the checklist can be a bit frustrating.

The big retailers are there bread and butter us collectors are way down on the food chain imo.

Notice all this comes out after the show? what an absolute joke, ESP couldn't care less about collectors, and yet they want to hide the checklist from suppliers until the boxes are realeased? They have got no idea and should have the rights release cards

"It is illegal for suppliers to put pressure on businesses to charge their recommended retail price or any other set price, for example by threatening to stop supplying to the reseller."

http://www.accc.gov.au/business/anti-competitive-behaviour/imposing-minimum-resale-prices

They only way they can stipulate the price the product is sold is if they do not sell the stock to the reseller.

The reseller would act as an agent for them and receive a commission for the sale. The seller never owns the stock.

Terry told me that releasing the checklist kills the series. He was rather touchy on the subject
I have thought about it on and off for a day and buggered if I know how and he failed to elaborate
Apparently Icon have almost sold out of their cases and once that is done all sales will be basically loose boxes
so surely releasing the checklist yesterday wouldn't kill anything

The only way that can happen that I can think of is the series is rubbish and once people see the checklist and realise it kills presales.
Surely they should be confident in their product?

At the end of the day its just over a week, weather we get it now or not were still going to get it and its not that far away so i say sit tight and enjoy,

and if people are waiting for the checklist to decide weather to go all out and buy heaps or less then it doesn't make sense to me i mean if your a collector of a team then it shouldnt matter really, For e.g.: im a titans collector therefore i want the titans sigs doesnt mater who they are i still am going to get them so i can try and complete my collection. I mean if your holding out on waiting to see if an individual player is going to be a sig before buying heaps of boxes then yeah maybe you would want to know but thats the risk in collecting, collecting is not meant to benefit anyone, its meant to be an even playing field if you want to buy 5 cases and then find out your favourite player is a sig then woo bonus you might pull it, I just dont understand the whole needing to know the checklist i mean are people really going to not want to buy boxes because a certain star could be there sig.

I for one feel the whole saving the checklist to release date is a great idea it keeps mystery until the final day of release and then as everyones finding out what the stars are etc everyone is busting boxes As the old saying goes "ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT" so i say sit back wait it out and enjoy the ride that is the next week and a bit because come next wednesday its on like donkey kong!
