It was though to leave Starc out but I couldnt go with a 4 prong pace attack. Starc is one of my favourite players to. And I love both Ponting and Hussey but they are getting old it's time to get some youth back.

I know it's your team but:

How can you drop Cowan?
S.Marsh will be in instead of M.Marsh in the future.
And loooool Krejza in the side ad you saying Lyon isn't the answer.

I was just waiting for a response from you Liam..... No matter where I post your always there. Personally I think Cowan is a sub par batsmen. Sure he did okay against India a sub par bowling team at best. The real test will be when (If he) faces the likes of Broad, Andersen, Steyn and even Rampaul and Roach when they tour the West Indies. He won't know what hit him. Australia won't be kissing Hughes' arse quickly enough. Mitchell Marsh has something his brother doesn't....The ability to bowl! Australia is crying for an all rounder and they won't pick Christian so why not Mitch?

And Krejza is a forced pick. As mentioned above I couldn't go with a 4 prong pace attack and Krejza spins the ball more than anyone in Australia. Didn't he get 8 wickets on debut? Who is going to be our number one spinner? Doherty - I think not you can't be a spinner and bowl yorkers. Haurtiz - Is he even in the picture? And Lyon - My god do you have a variation? I just don't like him. And Krejza offers a bit with the bat aswell.

When Jason Krezja Made his Debut i was a Massive fan of Him! But i just wish he didn't ball to many loose balls in an over! Btw Don't Forget Beer!:D

But i'd take Krezja anyday:)!

So you think Cowan is sub par but you'd bring in Hughes. That's amazing logic.

Cowan has done nothing wrong to justify himself worthy of being dropped. He's the perfect batsmen to bat with Warner. He's shown he can bat like a wall, something Phil Hughes hasn't shown.

An all-rounder like Watson? Mitchell Marsh has only proven himself in the shorter form of the game, which is just idiotic to pick someone to play tests on.

Krejza got 8 wickets on a pitch Mike Hussey could turn a ball on, it was an absolute dust bowl. Lyon is consistent, and has slight variations. He doesn't to bowl flippers because he's a finger spinner! You probably think our next spinner should be as good as Warne, don't you?

Did you even watch the series against India?

Wow your actually delusional. Yes I would bring Hughes in. Did I say he wasn't a sub par batsmen? Everything takes time and effort. Hughes in 5 years will be a better opener than Cowan he's only 23. A little persistance will pay off. He has shown he has the ability to score 100's. Who else will do the job?

Where did I say we needed an all rounder like Watson? I said Australia is crying out for an ALL ROUNDER. Not the next Shane Watson or someone similar to him. Watson is a once in a life time player.

And finally the spinners issue. That's your only argument "The pitch is a dust bowl Mike Hussey could turn a ball on it" "Hughes' runs came on a road" - One of your previous comments. The condition of a pitch doesn't matter. Case and point the Adelaide test match. And where did I say I wanted Lyon to bowl flippers???!!! I want a varition! It's alled top spin, over spin, arm ball! No I don't expect our next spinner to be like Shane Warne I expect him to be half decent.

And yes I watched every second and every ball of the series against India.

Well at least Lyon can consistently land it on a spot, I wouldn't back Krejza to be able to land it in a swimming pool.

Yeah, Lyon sucks, average under 30, good economy rate, only young and improving still... but fuck, just get rid of him because he can't turn it as much as Krejza...

Also, Hughes sucks harder than Kim Duthie at St Kilda's mad monday

You're calling me delusional and you're the one that wants to bring in Phillip 'Sub-Par' Hughes? You actually stated that he's sub par and you'd have him in the side!

No I meant you're saying 'we're crying out for a all-rounder' when we have one, his name is Shane Watson.

The condition of the pitch doesn't matter? See this is where you should've just stopped. You do realize that if a pitch is a dustbowl turns more?

Case in point Adelaide what? It was a road so Australia scored runs on it, India are shit so we bowled them out cheaply.

I like the blend of the current team - I said a few weeks ago that I would love to see a tough, fighting, hard-working Australian team and not a bunch of fancy Dans. It is why I hope Shaun Marsh can make a stack of runs at Shield level and even if he misses selction for the West Indies tour, be ready for the series that follow.

I am not entirely sure that Usman Khawaja IS the long-term No.3 solution and I am certain that Phil Hughes will face at least a season out of the team. The new selectors are seemingly going for "substance over style", particularly with the selections of George Bailey, Peter Forrest and Ed Cowan recently. Maybe this current Australian team may not be the most exciting we have ever seen..but it could end up being one of the most dependable.

My god you make me laugh Liam. Should I even respond to this or is the no winning with you? Can't I have MY own opinion and make MY own team without you jumping all over me? Shane Watson is injured man!!!!! Without a set date to return who else is filling the spot? And yes I would have Phillip Hughes in the side as stated above persistance pays off! I don't gave a rats arse if you think his sub par. I stated that aswell. There is a reason his nickname is the future!

No the condition of a pitch doesn't matter, Take Perth for example - a bowling paradise. When India got rolled everybody expected Australia to get rolled and Warner made 180! Adelaide was supposed to be a road that India could bat on and they still got rolled because our bowlers are too good! It just proves if you have the right team it doesn't matter what pitch you play on. And thats your argument India is shit? They're still ranked higher than us in tests.

first 20/20 on right now and matt wade is dominating, 63 from 38 and still going. great start to the aussies. indians looking a lot better too.

Congrats to George Bailey on a first up win. The boys were very impressive tonight. Got to love Brad Hogg's enthusiasm :).
Some big-mouthed f**kwit on the Sky News Sports panel show described George Bailey sending himself in at Number 5 as "poor captaincy". I am too much of a gentlemen to suggest that people like the aforementioned f**kwit are a result of what happens when cousins hit the sack together!

For anyone interested:

You can meet players from the ODI team this Saturday 4th February @ Observatory Forecourt, Royal Botanical Gardens in Melbourne.

This is on the Cricket Australia website.

Might be a good opportunity for some of you to get some player sigs

Can't wait till the Second T20, the 1st wasn't much fun because i found the result out before the 1st innings even finished:( but i hope in the 2nd T20 the Aussies go for it more because they had some dangerous all rounders left. Happy for Hoggy!

Back On the Argument, Honestly i Like Krezja and Lyon would like to see them bowl together and on the Same Pitch. And about Philip Hughes, there is no doubt that he will be back in a while and better than ever. I wouldn't be Surprised if Philip Hughes scored a more and more runs in Test Match Cricket in the End. He may not be the Peoples favourite but he is still a pretty okayy batsman.
