I'm not entirely sure that Brad Haddin has had a stable top 6 to bat under in the last few months. As incredible as Adam Gilchrist was, he had the likes of Hayden, Langer, Hussey, Ponting, Martyn, S. Waugh, M. Waugh batting ahead of him. In many ways the "he rescued us from 5/50" stories are a myth.
Keepers are always batting on a hiding to nothing - if they come in at 5/300 and make runs, then it is due to "a flat pitch" or "cashing in on bad bowling", if they come in at 5/50 (as Haddin has had to do regularly) and get out straight away, they have "let the team down".
I hope that Haddin and Shaun Marsh for that matter go to the West Indies, we have just drawn an away series (South Africa), won an away series (Sri Lanka), drawn a home series (New Zealand) and won another home series 4-0. West Indies are almost a non-entity, it would be a good opportunity for a handful of our blokes to regain confidence and form.
