I don't remember saying he never Fails at State Level?
He doesn't do that bad, 7 100's in 125 innings isn't to great at all but to still have an average of 37.5 in that circumstances is not bad but he definitely needs find more consistency.
I think Watson should open with Warner, both attacking and right/left combination and where watson has done his best batting, he's not a middle order batsman
Shaun Marsh needs to go back to the nets with Phil Hughes
I think Ed Cowan could be more valuable down the order coming in after Hussey or with Hussey
Watson
Warner
Clarke (step up to number 3)
Ponting
Hussey
Cowan
The Rest
I'm not entirely sure that Brad Haddin has had a stable top 6 to bat under in the last few months. As incredible as Adam Gilchrist was, he had the likes of Hayden, Langer, Hussey, Ponting, Martyn, S. Waugh, M. Waugh batting ahead of him. In many ways the "he rescued us from 5/50" stories are a myth.
Keepers are always batting on a hiding to nothing - if they come in at 5/300 and make runs, then it is due to "a flat pitch" or "cashing in on bad bowling", if they come in at 5/50 (as Haddin has had to do regularly) and get out straight away, they have "let the team down".
I hope that Haddin and Shaun Marsh for that matter go to the West Indies, we have just drawn an away series (South Africa), won an away series (Sri Lanka), drawn a home series (New Zealand) and won another home series 4-0. West Indies are almost a non-entity, it would be a good opportunity for a handful of our blokes to regain confidence and form.

good to see mitchell marsh in there. and love watching Doherty do his thing in limited overs cricket. thought hilfy might have got a spot in this team but not to be.
While they're blending the team, Shaun Marsh just isn't cutting it. There are huge wraps on Mitchell to be a cricketer for all forms of the game. Bats and bowls...drop Shaun, bring in Mitchell.
As for Watson, is he not still injured? If it heals, and Watson isn't back to the sad/bad old days of being in and out with injuries, maybe M Hussey could be tapped on the shoulder... [[Cue howls of anguish...BUT...]]
