Australia v Ghana Tonight at 12:30 AEST.
Should be a cracker... Also below is my thoughts about where they are going wrong so far after game 1.
1. In the First game we didn't play at our usual standards, even though, obviously, we don't have the same skill levels as the Germans.
2. Pim, you have been a pretty good coach before the world cup, but, what is this defensive crap where we play our No.1 Midfielder as lone striker? And then everyone else sits back and just tries to stop goals rather than score goals. Our midfield isn't world class (obviously) but can still break down defences, which we have done so well previously... Which brings me onto point 3...
3. Our defence. The German side is packed with young players, they are quick and creative. Their forwards are some of the best young upcoming players in the world, i'm sure you agree. This is the problem though, our defenders can't keep up with these young players which makes it even easier for them to score. Basically what i'm saying is this, Our players are too OLD.
Neill (32), Moore (34), Chipperfield (34) Are just a few examples, last game their was only one defender under 30 (Wilshire) Please correct me if i am wrong as well. New young defenders need to come through soon otherwise we are stuffed!
4. The offside trap- A quick one- Last game we tried this on a few occasions last game, it only works according to the quality of your defenders, and our defenders are too old... PLEASE PIM DON'T TRY IT!
5. Play attacking!- After the sending off of Tim Cahill (load of bull ****!!) we are a star player down, which begs the question, who is Pim going to start?? If he wants to win the game Bresciano and Kennedy have to start, at the moment it is said that after medical advice Kewell will start on the bench, so play these players and it will almost cover up the missing Cahill.
Come on boys! We all know you can do it... Finish them off and do us proud.
