Chelsea Team News:
Confirmed Starting XI: Hilario; Ferreira, Ivanovic, Terry, Cole; Essien, Mikel, Lampard; Kalou, Anelka, Malouda
Petr Cech is still out while Didier Drogba is starting on the bench
Alex and Bosingwa have been ruled out.
Man United Team News:
POSSIBLE Starting XI: Van der Sar; Neville, Vidic, Evans, O’Shea; Valencia, Fletcher, Scholes, Park; Owen, Berbatov
Rooney is likely to start on the bench while Carrick is out for another 2 with an ankle injury, Rio with a knee and the Da Silva Brothers with illness. Hernandez is on the bench

nope Evra has been given another week off by SAF after his side's dismal WC.
Chelsea favourites to win but going on preseason form they haven't done that well, same as United, but it's preseason so nobody cares!

United up 1-0 at Half-Time, great goal to Valencia, creative from Rooney! A few of my mates (mainly Chelsea fans) commented on Hilario and how scared they are of conceding... I now understand why! He looks shaky

Watched about the first 20mins then crashed - United looked solid from what I saw (which is always good reason to go to bed!) Always amusing to hear the boos for the returning England WC players. Lampard seemed to dodge it, with Rooney, Terry and Cashley copping the most...
bloody hell Goal are one of the worst aren't they? Nah they're all pretty bloody full of crap most of the time...
Martin O'Neill just resigned as Villa manager... apparently was ticked off regarding the sale of players, and the money not goin back into signing new players

couple of days to go gents... apart from a couple, is there much interest in the EPL?? I can see with this being a trading card forum, and there not being an abundance of soccer cards out there, that there wouldn't be too much interest compared to AFL, NRL, NBA etc...

I'm sure it'll fire up once the season starts. I know Warney's gonna get it in the ear if City knock over United this year after all the gut wrenching heartbreak they caused us last year.

Lost Carling Cup semi 4-3 on aggregate after a last minute goal
Lost 1-0 at City thanks to an injury time Scholes header!!
Like getting kicked in the balls from a 20 yard runup!!
I reckon we would have made the Champions league, likely won the Carling Cup (we stuffed Villa during the regular season and think we coulda won the final) - not that I'm BITTER or anything!!!!

You are all dreaming Liverpool will clean up this year. Looking at our squad the other day we have lost a few decent players but also picked up some real talent and depth. We will have Mascherano for first half of the season i think. Reckon he will stick around until this takeover is sorted and sees what kind of money is splashed about.
