2-1 to Chelsea.
Great result, United away to Arsenal on May 1 shaping as potential title decider. Could be all over by then though

what a pathetic end.. it's all yours now Arsenal.. The team is tiring.. and d***heads like Vidic don't think about the consequences, we are playing Liverpool on Saturday without him and as a declining side we will need him.. Think about it United..

No need to make like Cashley and pull the trigger just yet. Although we've been hearing all season how Man IOU haven't 'hit their stride' yet. They'd want to do it soon.
Go Liverpool

i think its arsenals for the taking, since theyre playing the 'better' football at the minute, but they got a few problems of their own. arsene has said he doesnt want to rush cesc back. RVP is injured again and even tho its probably not much, it could still hurt them. those two are pretty integral to any push the gunners make for the title. altho arsenals bench has been top notch this season.
i do think it could be their year. and not that i hope they get beaten at the nou camp, but it would certainly lighten the fixture load for them...

Yeah I was thinking the same. Would love to go through against Barca, but you still need a lot of luck after that to win a cup. Injuries definitely Arsenals biggest opponent now

RVP out for a minimum of 3 weeks, maybe as long as 6. Not good news, although no really tricky games in the league until the Tiny Totts on 20th April and United at start of May.

westham out of the danger zone. if they stay up, itll be only the second time a team has been bottom @ NYE and not been relegated...the other time was also the hammers.
bridge, ba & hitzlsperger making it happen!!!

Kuyt goal.. 5 bucks Liverpool win and United not to win the PL.

2-0..

Congrats United...

I must say as a Liverpool fan I am bouyed by last night's performance but also frustrated at our inconsistency. If some results go our way we are a chance of a champions league birth, however it is unlikely. I must give a huge Kudos to the Ref last night as I think it was some of the best umpiring I have seen given the situation. He was able to step back and make a rationale decision (mainly referriung to carragher and rafael) and defused the situation fantastically. Both tackles could have been given red but at least he stayed consistent with his calls. The only reason United aren't making a song and dance about Nani is because they know the criticism they will come under for his reaction, especially having a go at the ST Johns aid....... just terrible stuff. Here's hoping Kenny gets the job full time as it does seem he has brought a new lease of life to the club.

Not like Phil Dowd to be consistant throughout the duration of a match... Consistantly bad refereeing in my opinion last night. Carragher and Rafael should of both seen red no doubt. Shouldn't take a broken leg from a dangerous tackle for a red card to be produced. Had Carragher been sent off, the rest of the players would of got the message, no way would there of been a similarly reckless tackle five minutes later...
Great viewing though

Amazing Stuff from the dutchman last night.. great goalkeeping to watch!

Scholes is a w***er. Had to do something stupid late in the game didn't he? After receiving that yellow with less than 5 to play he is suspended for the next 2 games.

I'd change a few things - Gerrard was rubbish last year, and in the world cup, will be interesting to see how he goes this year. I'd put Milner from Villa in there. Rooney doesn't play on the wing. I'd have something like this...

Cech
Cole Vidic, terry Evra
Bellamy (City) Lampard, Milner, Lennon (Spurs)
Shrek and Drogba

Tevez and Dunne off the bench. Bellamy had a great season for City, scoring 2 at Old Trafford, and carving up Chelsea as well. Lennon was excellent and a big reason why Spurs made the top 4

I wouldn't have Torres or Fabregas because if u check the stats those guys, as good as they are, hardly even played last year!!!!! Like your backline though. Evra was excellent for United, as was Cole for Chelski.

As for City's transfers - we've got too many players!!! I've been very happy we've gotten Boateng, a big 21 year old fullback who was excellent for Germany in the WC. He was the only guy who shut down David Villa in the whole tourney.
Silva will cover for Bellers likely shifting or retiring. The other player we got was Yaya Toure from Barca to hopefully fill the Roy Keane role as a box to box player. Could do with Balotelli but he's a head case so wouldn't worry me if we ended up with another striker behind Tevez and Adebayor.

City now have a young strong deep team. Can they play together though? And can Mancini manage game time to keep everyone happy???

I've picked Chelsea to win again. with United, Arse and Man City to make the 4 but not necessarily in that order. I hope we win a cup!!!! Haven't won one since I was 3!!!

United are a Rooney injury away from big trouble. They're in financial strife and have 4000 season tickets to sell yet - a sign the club is splintered with it's owners. Arsenal will be sharp as always- if Fabregas stays as it appears he will they'll be tough. Liverpool's season depends on Torres staying. Kuyt can't score the goals they'll need. Cole is a great signing for them and their new Manager Hodgson is excellent. Just don't think they're as deep as City.

Warney - look forward to your contributions, arguing with u all year!! And I can't wait for the season to start!!! ;)

United - who have they signed?? Hernandez a Mexican?? Will he back up Shrek or play with him??

just thought i would bring up an old post.. interesting Alistair!

Don't know if your still around Luke.. but on a unrelated topic..

What a team Perth Glory have set up this year.. looking great!!

Signed Vukovic, Young (GK), Heffernan, Berger, Smeltz and Dodd, got rid of the crap but dont understand why Sekulowski??

Fowler can do what he wants to do.. as it is we have 2 1st pick strikers looking to line up (Sterjovski and Smeltz) so if he wants to go let him..

Great news for young Neville, got a two week trial with Pompey, would be sad to see him go but it is a great step in his footballing career and i'm sure the Glory will be supporting his every step :)

Yeah mate I'm still here. Been lying low, getting a bit of a George Best PC together, still have a way to go though. And have been steering clear of this thread after the Arsenal bowing out of 3 cup competitions in a bit over 2 weeks:(...
The Glory looking alright, Smeltz a good pickup
