Where will Judd land?

i didn't think Melbourne is Judd's preferred club, imo i think Judd will nominate that he wants to be a Pie, but actually getting Judd to Collingwood is totally different story.

from another forum

Likely Judd Deal: picks 4, 21 and Johnstone
Pies shot themselves in the foot when they refused to put Reid on the table combined with 14 and Brown.

Judd didnt mind Pies or Melb, just mattered which of those 2 clubs WC could deal with. WC can get the better deal from Melb, they have informed Chris of that and as a result Chris will announce Melb as his preferred option.

Dont ask for a source. If you dont believe me, then thats your perogative

Update: Looks like this deal isnt a goer (TJ not coming West). Melb still preferred option at this stage.

Hopefully Judd can join Melbourne, I would love to see him join the team he supported as a kid.

Wonder who is going to be the new West Coast captain? Would they trust Cousins to cut the oranges for half time, let alone lead the club, and if its not Cousins, who would step up? Cox? Kerr?

it's funny I think a lot of media outlets are trying to ignore/deny the melbourne rumours and are tlaking up carlton as the favourite still,

sportinbet has dropped melbourne to $1.75 now

I think Cox will lead them.

I think Cox will lead them.

Yeah, that was my thought.

Someone like Wirrpunda, Chick (who I have heard is not going to be an Eagle next year) or Hunter would be old fashioned leader, but Cox would be the best player who doesnt have a question mark (Kerr and Cousins) over his head.

Well Melbourne is out....Mutha ****a....

News
Club CEO Steve Harris said: "Chris' management advised us this morning that Chris had been somewhat surprised by the quality of our club presentation and strategies, and it was a difficult decision. However the club's training facilities at Junction Oval and the need to train at a variety of grounds over summer was an issue.

“It's well known that new state of the art facilities are due for completion at Olympic Park within 2 years, but we do have this comparative disadvantage.

"While it is very disappointing that Chris will be playing elsewhere next year, the club ought to be quietly satisfied that it had got itself from being a rank "no hope" outsider to being very competitive in the pursuit, and ahead of many clubs who failed to even get his attention.

"This outcome will only sharpen the need for the whole club to work together to ensure we have fully competitive facilities and resources.

"And we know that we have a team very capable of quickly overcoming the 2007 disappointment and getting back into the finals as we were in the three previous years. With a new coach and new football manager, a healthier playing list and with Pick 4 still in our hand, we have plenty of reasons to look forward to the 150th anniversary year in 2008."

Another couple of rumours i have found....

I hear there is a plan to screw WCE over also if he doesn't get to Collingwood.

It goes like this

Judd will most likely opt for the pies, but the Eagles want to deal with the Blues.

Anyhow the Blues will get him for nothing more than a 3rd round if they want and they will go the Lachlan Veale route and the Pies, Tigers and Blues will screw the Eagles over as they won't budge on the deal.

It goes Pick 3 from Carlton to Richmond,

Richmond than on-trade Polak to the Pies for nothing (as apparently he wants out )

Richmond then overlook Judd in the PSD and leave him for Carlton.

WCE ar going to get screwed over unless they take Rusling, Pick 14 and a second rounder, and a pick for Didak

WA papers are saying Eagles would get Nathan Brown (Mitch Brown's twin bro), Leon Davis, Sean Rusling, Tyson Goldsack and draft picks. Thats a lot, and I think its pretty good for the Eagles.

Well i heard on the grapevine that a scenario being bandied around was that Judd was not going to willignly head to Carlton and wanted to head to Collingwood.

Hence Judd would unless a deal was made, nominate for the draft, Richmond would draft him, and Collingwood would deal with Richmond directly.

I am unsure if this is a plausible option or legal under the draft rules even, however from what i have heard here in Perth, from some people associated with Fremantle was that was a highly likely scenario.

Interesting stuff, either the Blues or the Pies

Judd narrows choices to Blues, Magpies

Essendon and Melbourne are out of the running to sign AFL star Chris Judd.

That leaves just Carlton and Collingwood, amid ongoing speculation that the Magpies are the favourites to secure Judd who is looking to switch from West Coast to a club in his home state Victoria.

The Demons issued a statement on their website and sources at Essendon also confirmed the contact on Monday from Judd's management ruling them out.

"Chris' management advised us this morning that Chris had been somewhat surprised by the quality of our club presentation and strategies, and it was a difficult decision," Melbourne chief executive Steve Harris said.

"However the club's training facilities at Junction Oval and the need to train at a variety of grounds over summer was an issue.

Judd will make his final choice this week, ahead of the trade period next week.

The 2004 Brownlow Medallist's preferred club must broker a deal with his former club, West Coast.

Judd announced last month he would leave the Eagles to return to his home state of Victoria.

F*** that. Our recruiters would have to be the worst pursuit of players guys in the league.

Looks like the money does matter to Judd after all. That's disappointing.

Off course it does, he thinks his sh*t doesn't stink and can go to what ever club he wants !!!

Who is he to dictate who gets him !!! If getting home was his priority (as he claims) then it wouldn't matter where he went but we all knew he wouldn't just go to any club.......he's too good for that !!!

If Carlton or Collingwood don't want to offer something decent then I hope WCE let him get picked up by Richmond (for nothing) !!! If the rumour of Richmond letting him pass for a 3rd round draft pick is true then they would have A LOT of angry supporters (lol).

So he thinks the Draft rules don't apply to him - TYPICAL

I knew this guy wasn't going to resign ages ago but I respected that decision.......I don't anymore, not the way he has gone about it !!!

Another Buckley (like when he left Brisbane) if you ask me, I hope his career pitters out to the same result as Buckley's - No Premierships while Brisbane won 3 !!!

Wouldnt matter as much to Judd though since he already has one...

I thought that too Mattyj but if that was the case he wouldn't mind going to Melbourne, Richmond or Carlton, I don't believe for a minute that the training facilities at Melbourne have anything to do with him not wanting to go there. I wouldn't mind him going there at all, it would prove to me he did just want to get home but DICTATING he wants to go to Collingwood does nothing but infuriate me as a West Coast supporter........I don't care what the club gets for him it just sh*ts me off that players think they are bigger than the game.

Buckley did this in the early 90's when he was drafted by Brisbane and pulled every trick in the book to get to Collingwood. I remember how much of a controversy it was........it was also part of the reason there is a 3 year contract for draftees in place now.

Many Victorians & Victorian teams complain about Brisbane & Sydney getting additional caps for keeping their players but this just proves to me that it is neccessary.

You sound very bitter :) ....GO PIES!!!

I agree with you 100% Judd is being a complete and utter wanker about all this, and to be totally honest, what club wants to give a lot up for him, hes 24 years old and already showing signs of breaking down with his hip injury

I hope he never fully recovers, collingwood gives up heaps for him (Didak, Picks, etc) and both Collingwood and Judd end up screwed! :worthy:

Like you I agree with Richo 100% too, even though I liked the guy alot prior. This is just showing he only wants the money and doesn;t care wear he plays as long as he gets it.
