Where will Judd land?

I hope he does end up at collingwood, they gut their side to get him and head down hill again :worthy:  =D>

As much as that sounds great, I wouldn't like it to happen to Judd. Since we shared the same school (he was the year above me) I've intently watched his career and liked the guy. Other than more recently Melbourne's Nathan Jones, he'd be the only player I would ever consider collecting any Footy Cards of.

If he doesn't come to Melbourne, sure I'll be a little disappointed both for the team, and cause of that half baked personal connection, but I'll still intently follow his career :)

Personally I STILL have this gut feeling he will end up at Collingwood :([/QUOTE]

I can understand why Judd wants to go to Collingwood as we are in a good position to challenge for Premierships in the next few years. But because we don't have an early draft pick West Coast will not want to deal with the Magpies, and the other 3 teams have the inside running. The Eagles would be after a couple of the Magpies young guns, but i doubt that Mick would want to give them up. We already have the next Chris Judd in Marty Clarke. Clarke is going to be a Superstar, and it wouldn't suprise me if he won a Brownlow at some stage. It's a big call i know, but it is scary just how good Clarke will be, considering a year ago he was kicking around a round ball.

Is Clarke that good is he? Sheesh. Don;t know squat about him :) Damn good recruiting then!

Yeah, i know alot of people spruik Pendlebury and Thomas, but i just think that Clarke has the most potential. He is already ahead of Tahgh Kennelly at the same stage, and he will only improve with another pre-season under his belt. Talent spotters had labelled Clarke the Chris Judd of Ireland before he came to Australia. Collingwood was lucky to get him, because Brisbane had first choice on Clarke but they chose Colm Begley instead.

Anyone got a link to his ball skills video? I've watched it before but lost the link, it is utter brilliance!

He owes the Hawks nothing and rightly so. He can say and do as he pleases but from past trades we know it does't always end up the way the player wants anyway. Plenty of examples of that the last decade or more.

How is it hypocritical not going to Hawthorn when he is leaving a drug culture team behind??

The drive out to Waverly sucks and the Dee's train a lot closer right in town and soon will have a state of the art facility :-D

You didn't read what I wrote did you? I don't expect him to play for us because of that - I simply expect the respect of meeting with us. I don't want him I am happy with our own developing list.

I feel that whoever picks up Judd will be making a big mistake. The Eagles have pretty much run him into the ground. He looks to me to be pretty much shot at a very young age. He will be a shadow of his former self when he plays next year, just you watch. Carlton will be the dumbass team that will pick him up, cos only they would be stupid enough.

Apparently he will be getting the surgery overseas i heard and it's nothing but a simple fix.

to me its a two leg race between Melbourne and Collingwood. He met with the Dees on Friday for 2 and half hours i think and only an hour an a half with the Blues. Melbourne had his Idol Garry Lyon at the meeting aswell as Jimmy Stynes, Bails and Conolley. Hawthorn were out of the race a while back because of the drug culture at the club, Carlton apparently he has no interest in anymore whatsoever. He wants to go to a club that has a list that could win and money will not be the deciding factor, now if you look at it like that than Melbourne would surely be the front runners and at $7 odds im tempted to throw $50 on it. He played for the Sandy Dragons which 3-Peated the VFL last year and followed Melbounre as a kid. I'd say 9 out of 10 players, playing for their club they supported as a kid and idolised if got the chance too would be a dream come true.
Im not being biased but im 90% sure he will end up at Dee-land and lead the team in a tilt to win it's first flag for 43 years.
Now what to give them,
Pick 4 will be sent along with Travis Johnstone and than what ever else i guess, Brad Miller, Chris Johnson and Brad Green are players that could be included.
It's not like Melbourne doesnt have money too, every move we have done this off-season has been genius and is steering the club in the right direction. The appointment of Bails as head coach was a good move and than getting Conolley to head our football operations was also a good move. Travis earns 600k a year i think I heard, so take him out and with a few players hanging up the boots and you most defiantly have enough money to throw at him.

You have to remember, the choice is Judd's so if he picks Melbourne than it's up to WC and the MFC to agree to a deal that will suit both parties. So High Draft Picks and Good Players dont mean squat if he doesnt want to go to a certain club.

How do you figure? If he picks a team and them and WCE cant work a deal, then he ends up in the pre-season draft and ends up at Richmond...

Judd won't go to the draft. Eagles get nothing and Judd would go to a team he doesn't want to play for. They will work something out and Judd will get what he wants in the end.

exactly. WC will still have probally the best midfield in the AFL and if they can get some picks and good players for him aswell than im sure they would be happy. We lost Scott Thompson a few years back because he wanted to return home, i knew he would become a superstar and he was just starting to show it at Melbourne but his heart wasnt beating for the red and the blue because he wanted to return home to mummy. sooky la la
It's different with Judd because he belongs in Melbourne haha

AJ im sorry but Judd is no chance of being a Hawk and im pretty sure its because they chose Luke Hodge over him in the draft, after telling him that they were going to take him with the first pick. Also his best mate Steven Greene was axed from the club recently which doesnt hold good stead.

As much as i would love Judd in the maggies colours next season i cant see it happening, with no early picks our club would have to give up some youth which i think would disrupt our teams development. I think the Dees, Bombers and Blues in that order have the best chance.

Very inclined to agree mate :) Cept we might as well chukc pick 4, Bruce, Johnstone and Miller. Can't hurt to get rid of all the dead wood in 1 go :D

My question there is what would the Eagles get out of those guys? Maybe use Bruce in the forward line... but the other 2 would struggle to fit into their respective possy's.

Bruce is a ultility and with West Coast full of hard nuts willing to put their head over the ball, Bruce can be the softy he is and take the kudos. Or like you said, he can go up forward.
Johnstone is a straight into the midfield where Judd was role. I love Johnno and would be sad to see him go, but as they say, gotta give something to get something and both Bruce and Johnstone do have quality.
Miller, they can use him as a big roamer at either end. I personally think we won;t trade him, and more-over tell him to do what he does beest, CHF leading at the ball.

I don't think the Dees need to give up that much. Eagles will prob end up taking the draft pick and 1-2 players max.

well TJ was a #1 pick and maybe he could reach his potential in the West. Bruce still has 2 years on his contract and from all reports i dont think he is a player being mentioned to be included. Miller a QLD boy, Chris Johnson i though he would of been delisted but he might be included as he is a WA boy.

Im thinking
Pick 4, T.Johnstone, C.Johnson, Bate

I have a feeling we will have to throw in a quality young guy with the pick and i have a feeling its going to be the prawn.

yer i agree Jase. We have delisted 5 and 3 have Retired. That leaves 8 vacant spots. Now if we give up a pick and more than 2 players for just Judd we are going to find it hard to get our playing list up @ the 43 mark.

my deal above would have us needing 10 players with 3 picks and 1 in the Rookie Draft. So it's going to be interesting to see the moves Melbourne make this off-season and it all starts with Judd. Maybe their will be a packaged deal, last time we gave a dee to the Eagles they won a flag. Id love both Judd and Waters thats for sure!

Good thinking. 4, TJ, CJ...perhaps that's all they might want? But if not, they can have Bate I guess. I'm skeptical about him anyhow.

I do wish it was Bruce though...
