NRL 2016 ESP Elite Official Thread (Checklist Up Pg 36)

I am assuming that you wont get a ruby and sapphire mojo in the same case, hence the /40 & /20 i.e. 3 case break up would be - 2 cases will have /40 and 1 case will have /20 could be wrong tho

Why are so many people so pessimistic and act like the product is the end of the world? If you don't like the product then stop complaining about it, stop buying it and move on to another product and website! We are here on this site because we love the addiction of collecting NRL cards. No company is ever going to satisfy all our personal demands and requirements otherwise fork out your own money to form you own production and printing company... whoops I think i heard a pin drop from all those empty pockets out there. What we have is a generally a good product and i would rather have this than have nothing at all for NRL collectors. We only live once and if ESP aren't satisfying your petty requirements then move on for god sake and stop your whingeing!

This is a card forum and apart from direct word of mouth, is probably the biggest platform for this hobby. It is my guess that ESP keeps tabs on it or at least is in communication with others who do. Therefore constructive feedback (positive and negative) has a direct link back to the company.

As previously mentioned ad nauseum, master set collectors are all but gone, IP collectors are hurting, and players HATE signing cards now. Card collecting has changed and we need to roll with those changes, but at the same time it is imperative that we try to protect what is really important. What will hurt YOU as a collector is losing a community to trade and buy/sell with.

Personally speaking I have collected enthusiastically for 25 years and am still here through thick or thin. I don't want to move on I want the product to suit as many of us as possible and be attractive to new and old collectors alike. Offering constructive feedback shouldn't be seen as complaining for the sake of it, but a sign that people actually care and love the hobby and are offering advice for it to improve. All good companies depend on customer feedback to survive. And asking all naysayers to 'move on'...really? Be very careful what you wish for.

Would ESP have released no. 1s without 'whingeing' - doubtful
Would ESP have numbered their hits without 'whingeing' - doubtful
Would ESP have included a case hit without 'whingeing' - who knows?
Would ESP have lowered their price this year without someone 'whingeing' - again who knows?

Whilst I appreciate your positivity (really), I believe constructive feedback is not petty and has a vital role to play in this hobby.

And for goodness sake we only know two card sets in the upcoming release; no one has actually flamed anything yet.

Complaining because that is the reason why I dont buy any of the new releases. Unlike you people, who complain AND still buy the new releases.

Do you have any ESP in your PC? If so have you obtained by purchasing through the secondary market? That is still supporting the business.

I am sure I read recently that you or your mate purchased 20 packets of 15 Traders through eBay.

I never complain about the product. I enjoy COLLECTING cards. I have since the 70's.

Yes my collection has changed from trying to collect everything to now just collecting my team, which has nothing to do with the product.

People are changing to colleting their team, not only In NRL but AFL as well and that is still Select.

I just don't understand how you can complain if you don't collect

Yes, collected 2015 Traders last year, selling my collection off, to build up the PC, have very few ESP cards in my PC apart from the canterbury ones. And why buy packs anymore when you can get a thunder and lightning for 5 bucks tops of here, whenyou have a 1 in 18 gamble at buying a pack which costs 4 bucks. Makes little sense to buy packs and will never do again.

Read my messages dude. I wasn't complaining. I just said that ESP are very greedy and only care about profit. I've actually enjoyed collecting last year's traders release, there were just too many cards and that makes it impossible to even collect 30 percent of the cards as a kid.

How as a business is ESP being greedy.
Sure plenty of people would think ESP would be greedy. A red mojo set from last year is worth 400 dollars. Anyone can print those on silver cardboard with a licence and a printing machine. It used to be one set of parallels in 2013, then three in 2014 and finally 4 in last years release. But if anyone was the boss of ESP, and didnt give a shit about the hobby, they would be aiming to generate profit. So slightly greedy, but most people would do the same if they weren;t card collectors.

Delta when you are about to click Post Reply, consider this: what would El Masri do? He would only post comments that are well thought out, accurate and are considerate and respectful of others. Be like El Masri.

I wouldn't know what El Masri would do. Never met him or knew him at all. Hope that helps.

I know of someone that has input in the design of the sets and has been involved in card collecting for 25+ years. If you think everything is being created by business men/women in suits with no knowledge of the industry then you are definitely mistaken.

Sets in this day and age have to be large. The NRL and AFL licence costs a motza and they have a minimum figure which must be met each year. You're not going to reach this figure by releasing a 200-Card set in the mold of the 90's Dynamic and Regina sets. You're not even going to hit it producing sets like Select did in the early 2000's. Select's AFL release this year is even larger than Traders. It's the way the industry has gone and it's a reflection of the growth of the game we support.
