Totally agree, this Traders set was insert overkill and I don't even consider a one-per-pack parallel to be an insert. If they are going to put so many insert sets in, they should limit the size of each to one per team - not 32 and 45 cards.

yeah, those friggin parallels are just shit and are just sleeve fillers.

So of the remaining semi-decent players, that leaves McManus, Leilua, Gagai, Snowden and Smith.

I'd probably prefer a Leilua or Gagai out of that lot, and being a Kiwi I'd be happy with a Jeremy Smith as well.

Surely Sione Mata'utia will be the Knights Young Gun.

I reckon Mcmanus should get one, he has been there a few years now.
 
I only suggested it because I was tired of wasting money on packs that had nothing at all in them except a parallel that was only worth 1/6th of the pack price. Apparently it's only 1/3 of a chance you waste $5, but it happened more often than not. Even the golds were a waste if you didn't get a Souths one.

yeah, I have opened 10 packs exactly the same from 1 box, I got the same insert of pop/ graham 3 times, 6 parallel cards exactly the same.
I am severly jacked off at their packing.
 
I know these are only rumours and all, however, esp seem to have killed collecting some what. I mean i usually collect the lower and higher end sets, but this year, opted out of traders due to them not being too appetizing and waaay too many cards to collect. Its far from cost effective when thinking about the higher end release yet to come. Ive been saving away for elite but at esp trends in the past few years and this rumour thread im not too sure if ill be collecting :( I seriously feel i may not collect at all for the first year since 89 minus 98/99. I doubt i will even commit to pre sale before seeing a checklist. Feeling very disheartened atm

You are feeling what a lot of collectors are feeling at the moment.......confidence in the NRL card product is at an all time low, if this Elite series does not hit the mark with price, ratio's and a product that maintains its value then I think ESP are done for in the NRL card market. Collectors cried out for certain things many years ago such as jersey cards, origin cards and ARL representative cards and we have seen that really only once in the 2012 LE series.

Now for the rumor part to keep this on track, young guns to be inserted at a ratio of 1:box. League sensations I reckon will be replaced with something else.
 
I don't think it is esp fault. I think its the economic time we are living in at the moment. Although as a new card company it would have been in there favour to for the 1st few yrs to mix it up a bit to keep collectors interested by changing card designs and not trying to flog same pictures and series year after year. Back to basics you have to spend money to make money. People are not going to buy the same old stuff over and over again.
 
Does anybody think/know if there will be any Cameron Munster cards in the next set of cards released - I am really hoping for a Future Force/Young Gun (whatever they call it these days) signature card of him - anyone think that's a real possibility, or am I totally dreaming?

He just hasn't played enough, maybe if he played earlier in the season.

Two and a half months until release, thought I might generate some chat.

Parallels - Only one set and harder to get
No League Sensation, Young Guns to stay at 1:3 boxes
Game worn jersey patch cards for four teams from last years top 8 at either one or two per case and Game worn jersey patch signatures one per 3 or 4 cases

Who do we think / hope the Young Guns will be? These are just a few names off the top of my head. Feel free to post your opinions below!
