ESP NRL Traders 2014 Thread - Checklist Added (Pg 18)!!!

I also thought it would be a good idea to have a different retirement for each club they played at...
For instance:
Scott Prince was at the Titans for 6 yrs of his career... But his retirement is a Broncos card.
And it doesn't even have a cowboys image of him.

Finchy played bugger all at the Storm, But his is a Melbourne card...
Again, No Image from the Roosters...

Would be good if they had some variants for the Multi Club Players, Rotate the images (Like the Triple Threats)

OK time more appraisals. Got a starter pack and 5 loose packs this arvo.
Starter pack = nothing. :(
Loose packs = Tupou Milestones + Friend & Gillett Heritage.
Reverse of first lot, today's Starter a dud and 3 hits from 5 packs.

Milestones are OK. Good concept, nice design and certainly innovative. Although looks like they pinched the idea from AFL (and their's look better).
Heritage are also a nice design but they seem to be just an insert set for the sake of an insert set.

One other thing - all base in mint condition. No chips or cornering whatsoever, unlike yesterday's batch.

Go Doggies!!! ;)

We bought a few boxes for the boys and they thought they were cool :)
i liked the Milestone cards, a touch like the team of the year cards that select did...
the boys are keen for some more so thats a good sign :)

Not a bad 1st up series in my opinion,

The set I don't quite get is the Heritage Round cards. A player on the front (not wearing a heritage jersey) and Heritage Round game info on the back. It really does not make sense.....I liked the return to sender cards but like others have said it would have been better to look at those who top the stats in the league I suppose.

The multiple level of parallel cards was I think a bit of a flop for me I think it could have been done better by keeping the central colour the same and changing the outer colour. Also a great idea is to number the harder parallel, make each one out of say 200 or something.

I'm only just really getting into this and have so far got a box + about 42 other packets in one way or another. I have a couple of complete common sets but obviously a shitload of spare common cards. What on earth do you guys do with all of these usually???

I don't bust too many boxes these days but generally for me it was: 1 set in the Folder, 2nd set packed away in a 200 count box, then give the rest away or a "shoebox" auction on ebay.

Sorry if this has been asked and answered but does anyone know the ratios of the chart toppers & heritage cards? Their not shown on the pack ratios :(

so looks like ESP are doing the basketball thing with the base/silver/black, where you would get base and a variety of different colours, red/silver/blue/green of the base card, will make it harder for Master set collectors, which may push more and more collectors to just collecting their team or just going for a particular sub set, im not a big fan of making it nearly impossible to collect a Master Set...

The last thing you want to do to your customers in a small market is to make it Harder to collect base type cards in a variants. Most people will give up that idea as there are to many to collect in a period of time before a new release makes it on to the market. This will turn some collectors off collecting master sets. The repercussion of this could mean customer losses. It may work with a bigger market as in America, where you have a lot more collectors. Lets hope it pays off.

Agree, I think more and more people (just like with AFL) will turn to just collecting their team.

In saying that go back 2 years to those gold cards and sticker cards. Pretty much the same thing.

If anyone is in need of a fix in Western Sydney, Plumpton Marketplace Newsagents have a heap of boxes/starters/albums etc.

This was the result of 3 starter packs today....not too bad I reckon!
