COMC Mailbox Thread

I submitted a card for Beckett grading on the 20th of August. When should I expect it back in my inventory?

Hi! When you submit a card to Beckett, it takes approximately 5-7 weeks to get it back into your port; so, if you submitted it on the 20th of August, you may see it back as soon as September 24th. Thanks for asking!

I have received my first batch in the mail thanks! I am about to process my 2nd batch of cards now..

My first batch cost around $10 shipping and all had "25c for supplies" next to each card. Each card arrived in the mail with a toploader (I assume the 25c covered the cost of the toploader).

I am about to process my 2nd batch and I have this for example:

Random Card from Stock:

N/A
$0.00$0.25
+20¢ Add
Toploader

25c for supplies but underneath it says "20c add toploader" - I assume the 25c was already for the toploader? If not, what does the 25c for supplies cover?
When I click add 20c toploader link it makes it 45c ? ... so does it come in a toploader if i dont click add 20c? Because I certainly didnt click "add 20c for toploader" for 28 individual cards in the first order. Thanks.

cheers.

Hi! That $0.25 is the shipping and handling fee for that specific card - not supplies. There is an additional $0.20 fee if you want the card to be shipped in a new toploader, but that's a separate (and optional) fee. If you don't click the button for the toploader, then the card will not be shipped in a toploader.

Thanks!

What about cards that arrive into your ComC Mailbox
ie from ebay that are shipped in a toploader.
Are you saying to have them shipped to us we have to pay for the toploader that it came in.

Cheers

The August batch of cards all arrived in toploaders and I didn't click 'add toploader' for each card when processing for shipping. Assume you did this as goodwill then? :D

If the cards arrive in the Mailbox in a simple toploader, then they'll be removed from the toploader for the processing service. If they arrive in screw-down or magnetic one-touch cases, they'll remain in those cases, and be processed as "oversize".

If you want your card shipped to you in a toploader, it'll be $0.20 for a new/clean toploader.

Thanks!

Our shipping team is a pretty friendly lot; I wouldn't know the details of your specific order - sometimes they will include top loaders, if the cards are of a higher value - that could have been the case with your shipment?

Nothing much of value more than $50, most $10-20 cards.
Not complaining then with the extra toploaders :D

Have added the 20c toploaders to each card for my next batch

Cheers

Well as much as I am loving the COMC.com service and will continue to use it, I do not agree with the charge of the top-loader to ship it, if the there was a top-loader provided on receival. There may be a number of reasons why though, one being the one that it arrives in may be damaged or sub-standard.
Thank the good lord there is no charge for one-touches or scerw-downs in which the cards may be shipped in! :D

The toploaders they do come in are nice and new, fit the cards well and no sticky tape. Makes it less hassle at this end when they do arrive.

There is a charge for screw downs/toploaders, its $2 for processing instead of 50c... As easy as dealing with Nathan and COMC is, the toploader situation is still an issue for me, not a big one, but after all the initial feedback and the promise of a solution it just seems it has been put in the "too hard basket" I am yet to hear of any developments to a pure mail forwarding option which was alluded to around the time of Nationals, but nothing has come of it... If it is not going to happen, then fine - let us know... dont just ignore it hoping it will go away... I am still happy overall with the COMC experience and will continue to use/recommend it, just wanting FINAL T&C's.... there seems to have been more policy on the run with this then Rudd's election campaign :)

So let me get this straight? In regard to the valuable cards sent in toploaders regardless of 20c paid or not, is this policy or just if COMC feel like it? what value gets a top loader regardless, what doesn't? If I don't pay 20c a card, does that mean those of $X value and above will be sent in toploaders or not? there seems to be a precedent set here but others have said they received none in toploaders??? If one of us requests items to be shipped without adding toploaders and they receive good value cards without protection, do they have a right to be upset because COMC have sent others protected cards at no additional costs and seem to be flirting with the idea of precedent, or should they know the T&C's better and just deal with it?

Also be prepared that the days of asking for base/filler to be donated (not charged processing for) are numbered due to recent email communication I have had with Nathan and he has requested that we notify sellers not to send additional cards (which I have started doing) soon it seems these will be charged processing for, whether we paid/asked for them or not... I also will add, I have no problem with requesting sellers no to add additional, I mean I had 20 base sent with a $2 auto... It does take effort and time to dispose of these, I am just giving everyone a heads up

So, when you get those thicker cards delivered in one-touches/screw-downs, that will incur a $2 processing fee instead of the 50c fee.
I thought the $2 fee only applied to graded cards in over-sized holders.
Am I correct in saying then, that the ONLY type of processing for which 50c is charged; is regular sized cards in the thinnest size top-loader?
(I'm just wondering what the charge is when you get NT sized cards sent in the thick top-loaders)

I also have been writing 'DO NOT SEND GIFTED CARDS' with all my paypal check-out messages.

Pretty sure, any size toploader is 50c (70c when you have to buy another toploader). screw downs and one touches are $2... I'm ok with that... rather that than 70c processing inc cheap toploader....

Hi! I wanted to assure you that we're not ignoring the mailbox issue; there are a number of changes and modifications coming down the pipe really soon, not just for the mailbox but for some other elements of the COMC experience...we just ask for your patience as we get ready to roll these changes out.

As for cards being shipped with toploaders, I'd have to double check with shipping, to see if there's a value level to where they ship with them or not. I don't know the specific circumstances of the previous example, where someone received toploaders without asking, so I honestly don't know what happened there.

I'm sorry if my communication hasn't been up to par; our post-Nationals hangover has lasted a little longer than expected, but things are coming together as we get ready for the holidays. Thanks again for your patience and input and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Moe, your continued presence and daily communication here is appreciated and does not go unnoticed.... I am very happy to hear that there may be developments soon.... Ive had over 100 cards sent to my mailbox so far so I am a happy customer, and the mailbox is definitely a fantastic initiative in the hobby for intl collectors. Just giving my continued opinion because at the moment it is good, but it can be great and we like that COMC is interactive and communicates directly with the collectors... The card companies could learn a lot from you guys

I'm just giving honest feedback because I know generally COMC listen..... I wouldn't waste my time giving Upper Deck feedback ;)

However Moe, your taste in AFL teams is definitely sub-par :p

Thanks! And, I think someone's a little bitter, as we've made it to the Prelim Finals...I'm not taking anything for granted, mind you - I'm just prepared to watch the boys continue to be awesome ;-)
