Paypal dropped the ball

I recently purchased a card for $80 that never arrived. The seller charged $10 post. After the item never arrived, we talked a few times. Said he posted it and he'd talk to australia post. I eventually put in a claim to paypal....... And got my money back..
If he did post it.... I feel bad about the fact that he lost the card then $90 as well..... But the truth is... You never know who you can trust....!! He could have been lying for all I know.... Or he's extremely outta pocket one of the two!!!
Posting is crap in general.... I worry more about posting to others than not getting my stuff in the mail..... I register everything... EVERYTHING.. Lol.

As we all know cards are a business to some or a hobby to others, so there is always a money figure in there somewhere which always brings out the scammers and lowlife!
I doubt there is an easy fix other than trust in the postee of the goods!
I have never had a problem up to now so i guess i am lucky or i choose my sellers correctly!
cards sent in white envelopes has always worked for me as it does not show any particular interest out of the normal. When you address your item 'do not bend' it does attract a particular interest!
I admit that i dont sell or buy high dollar cards which is always in my favour!

registered post is the way to go , however even this is not without difficulties.
a tip to senders that if you pre-purchase registered post rolls of 50 you need to keep your receipt as well as offer proof of postage (basically i still purchase the stamps each time i send a package and also keep this receipt)- australia post will look for ways to deny your claim if the package is lost without documentation.

Maybe the thief working at the Villawood Distribution centre is a member on here and knows which seller is which and knows that the padded, registered mail envelopes that are heading out to the big collectors will most likely contain high end or expensive cards ????
Maybe we should be asking where we all work ?????

Yes, both are in Villawood but 1 + 1 = 3 in this instance as the sorting centre and Stephen 8088 Edge work about 500m apart. 8088 works at a car accessorising shop
