The Official LA LAKERS thread!!

As a 30+ year Lakers fan, we need to:
1. Keep Gasol. The muscle Howard brings is a perfect compliment for Gasol's finesse.
2. Don't sign any distractions - such as Martin, Bell (Kobe hater) and dope-head Beasley.

Yes, 'D wins titles', but it is more accurate to say that the highest score wins...and our offence needs a general...Nash I'm looking at you! After a decade of Fisher defending PGs, Nash is probably a step up!!

M33ks needs to hit 3s, Jamison needs to be the best 6th man, Kobe needs to drop his ppg average, Howard needs to rebound, Nash needs to dish, Gasol needs to get active, MWP needs to remain sane...do that and Lakers can get #17 (titles, not Bynum).

At least this year World Peace is player better basketball.

They should of last year traded for Beasley i think he would of fit in well with the team. He sure doesnt fit with Phoenix

PS Doesnt Gasol and World Peace contracts come off the books at the end of this season.

The Beasley sign fell through at the last minute thats why we didn't sign him.....I think now they have ran out of excuses to trade Gasol i mean ever since that fade out in the 2011 2nd round vs Mavs his name has been on the block they either need to trade him NOW or not at all and just wait till he come off the books...

i've said it again and again not just on here but to a few mates we dont have a PG to run the offense as much as i hate Blake id rather have him run it than Morris or Duhon like Chaddy42 said i ll give this team a few weeks after Nash is back then they need to make changes, i think they can make room for 1 un-signed player, i'd go with Bell personally


I mean we give up 40pts to ORL in the 4th then 35 to the HOU in the 4TH the hack-a-dwight really has nothing to do with it we just seem to coast for 3qtrs then relax in the 4th, seriously guys get your S&^T together!!!!

Kobe needs to drop his FG attemps thats when we are most dangerous!!
 
ohhhhhh and another thing that made my blood boil watching this game.......Offensive rebounds.......we got killed how can the smallest guy on the court get a rebound over Jameson Kobe and Dwight???

Unfortunately i was watching our game....i was have a great time think yeah up 6 with just on 3mins to go....then it went down hill after that
 
People say it doesn't matter but if you can't shoot free throws, it DOES matter. Means Kobe is not getting looks, the offense isn't flowing and Dwight is putting up bricks!! Gasol was the centre piece of their last 2 titles, The offense has to go through him first. Dwight is there for rebounding , d and that's about it.

I think it matters as well, just not when you are up 17 at one point in the game... 50% FT in a 2 min stretch is the least of their probs. They can't do it in the last 2 min of a game anyways and the still couldn't get points.....


Oh, and Gasol can't be traded as he was a condition of Nash's signing I read somewhere. Got to give it a try at least with Nash first.
 
I'm feeling another lose coming against the Hornets today. Defence again is just crap. In the 2nd quarter the hornets go
lay up, 3, lay up, tip shot, lay up, ft, floater, lay up, ft, lay up, alley oop. How can we allow so many points in so close??? Not to mention its not even half time and the Hornets already have 10 offensive boards.

Tough loss today @OKC we are not going to win games shooting 37% in the first half and AGAIN letting the other team score 40+ in a qtr thats what killed us!!and Westbrook the guy was on fire from downtown!!! good effort down the stretch to get within 6, still cant really dwell on the loss or make excuses just got beaten by the better team will be good to see how we go when we are at full strength with the main guys playing a few games together!
