NO MORE PANINI FOR ME!!!

Crikey dick.

Yes, it sucks that you didn't get a card you wanted for your collection.
Yes, it sucks that the auto is not perfect on the replacement you received.
Yes, it sucks that you can't appreciate the fact that they gave you a GOOD REPLACEMENT (which is more than a lot of people receive).
Yes, it sucks that you can continue to whinge in this thread but not reply to a PM asking you for more details about the card.

In summary, sucks.

LOL funny how EVERYONE, mods included, missed the simple but MAJOR issue that Ang had in the first place.... There might be a fair bit of One Eyed Panini bashing around on forums, but this forum has a lot of blinded Panini love and people don;t read the whole story, they just see red when some one, god forbid, has a problem with Panini!!!

Great card, Great replacement value wise, but CONSIDERING Ang and the CSM talked for 2 + months and the CSM TOLD Ang he had hand picked the card, knwing from 2 months worth of correspondence how Ang is with his cards, Panini have stuffed up...

Yes Ang could sell it for more and get some PC cards, but it does miss the point he is trying to make. Would I personally get as fired up as Ang and also Nick? Probably not but I certainly wouldn't ignore it straight off the bat.... And let's add in one more important part, Ang contacts the CSM, which he has done a heap by the sound of it, but get's ignored all of a sudden..? Come on guys, I know there is some unfair Panini bashing from time to time (**Raises hand up** I've done it!!) but some people on this site jump to their defense for no other reason then they are in the good books and get the right thing done by them all the time!!!!

I think someone on here received a Andy Rautins card as a replacement for a low numbered Amare Stoudemire redemption? Could be wrong on the player, but I would be more upset at that!

A true collector would not look at the value of the card but instead would want the card he redeemed to complete his collection.

If the card hasn't been produced then they can't send you the original card, and if you agreed on a replacement then then Panini appears to have done their best here. I don't think they would send you a replacement card if they thought the standard was too poor (although it probably has been done before).

I do hear what your saying Ang, but for me the only poor customer service that Panini have done here is not reply to your latest emails.

Hope you get something sorted anyway mate

Hi Graeme, Sorry for the late reply (but I know you're a patient man, lol.) The card is #7/35 and I have no idea of a sell price. Please feel free to PM any offers.
Kind regards Ang

It sucks that you are unhappy with the card Ang, hopefully you can sell/trade it to get something you are happy with!

Just a query I had relating to nicks thoughts, if the card doesn't meet the standards required to send out as a replacement, what do they do with it then?I personally think destroying it would be a waste.

I think the quality of the auto is extremely subjective, so maybe the manager thought it was a great auto and sent it out. As this thread is a testament to, we all have different tastes/standards so things like this are always going to cause conflict. 1 person may have gotten this replacement and posted a thread praising Panini, so again the subjective nature of our opinions makes nobody right or wrong in this situation. For what it's worth, I'd have been happy with the replacement :)

Im guessing by your comments its a bit of a dig at me here so im happy to respond.

Ang had his cards replaced with a much higher value card and because the auto isnt the greatest auto Kobe has signed, thats all of a sudden Panini's Customer Service Managers fault?

If the CSM checked every card for every auto to make sure they were 100% perfect he wouldnt get much done. It's likley he has seen whats available, over compensated for Ang's troubles pulled the card out of the box and given him a pretty decent card as a replacement.

I can understand that Ang might be a bit peeved that he hasnt heard back from him but look form his point of view, he has given a card as a replacement way above what he probably should have and now is getting emails saying that he is not happy about the auto?

I think if you see the responses along with mine, im not the only one who thinks this is a fair replacement?

I'd like to also understand what you mean by your last point where we are supposedly in the "good books" and get "the right thing done by them all the time"? If thats an accusation of something inappropriate going on, please feel free to share it!

Cheers
Matt

Wasn't suppose to be a dig at anyone really, both you and Rhys always stick up for Panini, and with good reason, they have done a lot for this site and for collecting in general. I use to HATE panini, or at least the fact they were the only manufacturer....

Re reading my post, I can see how and why you took some of the things I have said the way you have... There was no real malice intended in them at all, was more trying to make the point that there is about the same amount of people on both sides of the Panini "bashing" these days... By NO WAY did I mean to accuse anyone of doing anything inappropriate or underhanded Matt, It was meant as in never having issues or having to go through anything like Ang has experienced, or anyone else that has had troubles or felt hard done by Panini. But again, I can see how you've taken those comments that way, I should have worded my post a lot better, just having the time to get on here is a hard one these days, for long enough to get involved in any conversations etc etc anyway, let alone having ages to think and type my reponses properly!..... MY apologises if thats the way you took it, I more included "even the Mods" as more of a point in the fact that EVERYONE had seemed to miss the point of Ang's frustrations!

I got what you were saying Ian!

I am definitely one in the 'Pro Panini' column, but my reasons are simple! We don't have another choice, so why spend the whole Panini era being angry and complaining about things? I prefer to to see the positive in things and if that means that I ignore the negatives, then so be it!

I didn't miss Ang's point, I simply think he is taking the glass if half empty approach. And, if I was the CSM of Panini and managed to snag that card for someone as a replacement for the 2 he had, then got a complaint about it, I too would redirect it straight to my junk email folder

Mate no problems at all, all good.

O.k after having a re-read of this thread im starting to think im too picky

Let me just ask this question and please give an honest response.

Say you had a deal with a fellow member on lets say a Durant auto worth $800 you have wanted for your PC for a while. The guy you're buying off says sorry but I can't find the card but here I have an MJ auto with a SV of $1200 I can give you instead with no mention of off card auto. You strike a deal and the MJ arrives and the auto is all pushed off the edge of the card. You try to PM the seller with no response. Do you leave the seller a negative feedback or give him a positive and go on with your life happy with your funky mj auto?

So Ang is a sucker for not asking Panini for pics of said card? I personally don't see a difference in situations just one is a multinational company.

No.... Ang wasn't entitled to a card as good as the 'perfectly signed Kobe Notable Nicknames'! The card he received, in the condition he received it is worth more than he was entitled to! So it is a win. I know it won't go into his pc because of the auto, but it will sure as hell pay for some damn nice cards that WILL go into his pc

I was saying in the instance you gave, you deserve it!

Negative!!!!!
Although i have never left anyone negative feedback on ebay or anywhere else, When i should have!!!!
I can't stand people knowingly selling things with flaws, "its GEM/MINT condition" they all say!!!
You get the said "GEM" home to find out that "GEM/MINT" means its off-centered,white corner with some nice big surface imperfections!!!
Some real POS people out there, with no morals.

In regards to the issue at hand its morally wrong, plain and simple. Negative feedback "should be left" but a lot of people wouldn't do that just like myself.
But to the OP, its not so simple, Panini may have made an honest mistake in regards to not checking the auto on the card...
Who know's....
Even still, its bad business practice on Panini's part, from start to finish.
