*SPOILERS* Official NBL 2012/13 Season Thread

Yeah Wilkinson in Europe now. Breakers did sign last years Blaze import Will Hudson.

No a bad player no where as good as Wilks though.

I think Hudson is a pretty good replacement for Wilkinson. Different player to Wilkinson in that he plays more inside the key, so they will probably miss having a centre who can stretch the defence.

Only time will tell. Not overly impressed with Hudson. Bit of a softie when I seen him play Adelaide.
Think Breakers will be worse off with Hudson that's for sure.

The reason they didn't re-sign Big Red is because of Pledger's development, so they still have a C as such but he doesn't shoot the 3. Re-signing Ced Jackson is more important. He's playing summer league for the Spurs as we speak.

Yep, I just meant they will be a different team, because rather than having a centre who can draw the defence out, both guys who will play centre play in the key.

Cedric Jackson is certainly a key signing for the Breakers. If they can re-sign him, they will definitely be favourites IMO to win the Championship.

I thought GW was a great player for us - will miss him... I know other teams loved to hate him but he was a fantastic pro.

Media Statement on Adelaide Arena from Leeanne Grantham, Adelaide 36ers CEO and Mark Hubbard, Basketball SA CEO

24 July, 2012

“Today we were advised by Ferrier Hodgson that they have taken possession of the Adelaide Arena on behalf of the Commonwealth Bank, from former owner Eddy Groves. This has surprised all of us at the Adelaide 36ers and Basketball SA.”
...
“Over the next week we will be working closely with Ferrier Hodgson to determine what this means for the future of basketball in South Australia, including the Adelaide 36ers, the Adelaide Lightning, Basketball SA and SA Country Basketball.

“We will keep our members, the public and other key groups informed as soon as we have further information and better understand what the repercussions are for our sport.”

Is that the same Eddy Groves that was behind the ABC Learning centres? If it is how the hell was he allowed to be involved in basketball in this country in any way at all
