I just had another look at the checklist of this signed set. It is a very good concept......HOWEVER:
a) The first 8 personally autographed captains (Morris, Craig, Benaud, Harvey, Simpson, Booth, Lawry & Jarman) all signed in the 1995 Futera Heritage set ALONG WITH 4 other captains - Bradman, Bill Brown, Ian Johnson and Ray Lindwall (3 invincibles and another legend of Australian cricket!).
b) Both Chappells + Border, Taylor, Waugh, Gilchrist, Ponting & Clarke have all previously signed with Futera and/or Select.
c) That leaves only Yallop and Hughes as the only ones in this set not to have signed cards before (and Yallop only captained in 7 Tests during the weakened era of WSC)
So I am really struggling to justify dropping $1400 on this set when I already have 16 of the 18 autos.....especially when I can pick up the fascimile set for $150. :-k
Then again I could be wrong, previous releases were limited to 500, this is limited to 200. So realistically there is less of a chance of finding these at half price in the future.
I forgot about Wang, if his is holding on to 100 then he will be controlling the future value.
The value is in the set of all the same cards not various signatures from different series also apart from the Heritage Captain Signature set All the other signatures are out of 1000. This is out of 200 & their is how you justify the value. Also the current signature cards are of better quality than the Futura Signature cards(which in my opinion looks cheap)

I've got a fair grasp on the value of a set over individual autos - my point is that any serious collector already has 16 of these 18 autos - the first 8 already in a set also signed by Bradman, and the other 8 (except Clarke) have all appeared on signature cards numbered to 150 or less, not of 1000 like you said. only Yallop and Hughes are new autos.
Has anyone worked out how they are numbered?.
I will be breaking a set to sell on Ebay. They should arrive here Wednesday, hopefully, and I will scan the individual cards and list them by Friday all going well.
Cheers Glenn
In cardzone again today to take another look at this set and I must say that the box and album are presented very well, top quality and Steve says that he has already sold his first 20 and his second shipment arrived today.Did overhear him on the phone to the person who ordered box #50 0f 200 and it had a small crease on the front of the box, guy said he would still take it though. I guess being #50 of 200 he thinks its worth the risk having a "milestone" box set. Also noticed that he had sold box set #100 so if you are hoping for one of those for anyone thats ordered one sorry to disappoint. Heard him also say that he got a special price for the first 20 sets thats why he could give the guy on the phone the set for $1200 instead of $1395(Is $1200 around the price you were told Nazim). He later told me that because they were selling so well that he would probably be putting the price up to $1800 sooner rather than later. Good old Steve doesn't seem to know when to just leave the price where it is.
