Captains Signature Set - released in approx 2 weeks

looks good. probably a better buy for your money than the afl heritage set being released soon. imagine they did this a few years back with bradman included. the mouth waters just thinking about it lol

I was in cardzone yesterday and the first thing Steve did was show me a printed signature set, looks good but he has it priced for $150. Thought that was a bit much for 43 cricket cards, but hey I was at cardzone so what was I expecting:lol:

So there are a printed version and real version of this set?

No mate I haven't got one, no spare $1400 to spend the week before xmas!! They look good, I would like to get one but with 200 sets they are hardly going to sell out anytime soon at that price.

I am not a huge set-buying fan really (unless there is a genuine Bradman auto to be had!), just wish someone would bring out a pack release with a signature card every 1:200 packs or thereabouts so you could chip away at putting the set together.

I would much much rather "collect" the set than "buy" the set.

Is it just me but i dont see the value in $150 for a reproduction set that has a production run of 700. In reality 700 is a lot of sets.

There is no doubt about it - both the main set and the reproduction set are extremely pricey. Wish they had gone with more quantity and a lower price instead.

$3.50 isn't too bad per card, thats cheaper than a foil sig select insert and they look a lot better designed, the problem is by producing a fake set it devalues the authentic set a little

Does anyone know if the cards in the auto set are all individually numbered or is it also only the header card like on the cheaper facsimile set?

Give it a few years and these will probably end up on ebay at half the price, like previous CA/ESP sets…. Most likely numbered folder/box rather than individually numbered is my guess.

Who else thinks Raj is right about this? Am I likely to be wasting my money on this? Surely with only 200 sets, we're not going to see them floundering on ebay for half the price later on, are we?

I don't think so as Wangy only got 100 of the signed one the other 100 have gone to memorabilia resalers & channle 9 who are going to be selling them during the boxing day test.
:woot:

Then again I could be wrong, previous releases were limited to 500, this is limited to 200. So realistically there is less of a chance of finding these at half price in the future.

I forgot about Wang, if his is holding on to 100 then he will be controlling the future value.
