But the start of the thread you had no idea that they graded with Qualifiers which is why you should be informed and have all the info.

your right mate but even after being informed I still dont think its right that a card with centering like that can be graded a 9, as I said if they are grading (OC) where does it end in the future? The whole idea of getting a card graded is to have its correct grade not a grade with exceptions ..for example...( well its a 9 if you dont count centering) I dont like it at all and thats what im saying.
Personally I don't like qualifiers and I wouldnt buy an OC card. But I think there is a place for qualifiers, just not necessarily on newer stuff.
With vintage, where the population reports of cards are so low and the chances of getting another high grade example of a card is rare, then a person having a card graded may decide that they think the card has sharp corners and the only thing wrong with it is centering. They request a qualifier,and get it. So what it is saying to the buyer of the card is "this card is a great example of a vintage card, it would have been a 9 if not for the centering". There are collectors out there (especially with vintage) where having a really sharp example of a card is more important than having a well centred card with fuzzy corners. Especially if the chances of that card popping up again is minimal.
And OC isn't the only qualifier - there are others ie MK (Mark),ST (Stain) PD (Print Defect). Things like ST are used where there might be a wax stain on the back of a card, PD where the printing may be slightly out of focus or there is a slight ink splotch on the card. They didn't have the modern printing presses they churn out the cards with these days.
So as I said I think there is a place, just not my cup of tea on newer cards.

They maybe they need a cut-off date for production of cards for these (OC)'s and others...I mean are they going to start grading exquisites with (CC) chipped corners cause Im sure alot of people would jump at it lol
and mavs who cares whos fault it is?? a cards grade is its grade no matter how it came to be it that shape

Obviously cards with qualifiers could be valued less (not saying they are, because I don't know from personal experience). But if a card is OC, wouldnt you like to know what it would grade if it wasnt?? I would.

Yeah wouldnt happen. PSA have a thing called "Grading Standards" - try finding the same on the BGS site.

Shoes, grading companies (specifically speaking of PSA) are not 'moving forward' and adding more qualifiers. From reading you're posts, I come to the conclusion that this is what you're thinking. They only "qualify" printing imperfections, not condition imperfections. Most of these wouldn't even come into consideration for modern cards. That's what some of the graded lovers are trying to say I think.
