Each to their own. I also wasn't saying ai doesn't have a bball iq, I think he was more an instinctive player. The really really great players like mj, Kobe, bird, magic had the iqs and don't play on pure instincts. They lead to titles.

I was ignoring career achievements! Would you wanna be on a team where the best player doesn't really care about practice to improve himself/the team and stays out late drinking/gambling or with a guy who is driven to be among the best players' to ever lace up a sneaker? You asked a simple question and I gave you the easy answer(sic).
Now, if the question was 'Who would you rather pay money to watch play'? Then it's AI, without a doubt.
the stats will change week to week if its current, but lets consider Kobe, Mello, Lebron, Harden, Durant... perhaps a few more possiblilites too
At the end of the day they are all strong players, so how do you pick one over the other ? With such similar stats you cant make a strong argument, it depends on who your team mates are... As michael jordan said their is no I in team, but there is an i and win.

if its a question of starting a team around any star who is a current player the answer is easy for me and i would take tim duncan over anyone currently in the league, even at his age now and if it was while they were in their prime he was simply unstoppable on the post and probably the quitest leader ever

Perhaps Melo and KD... Harden averages 14ppg for his career and LeBron is the one to average more than 5 assists per game
Harden
14.0ppg 2.7apg 3.5rpg
Kobe
25.5ppg 4.7apg 5.3rpg
Melo
24.8ppg 3.1apg 6.3rpg
KD
26.4ppg 2.9apg 6.7rpg
LeBron
27.6ppg 6.9apg 7.2rpg
Harden is way off the mark, Melo & KD are similar, LeBron has clearly the best stats.
And what I'm talking about has nothing to do with team mates. I'm talking individual players hence the reason I'm ignoring career achievements because you obviously need a good team to win. I'm talking purely how good individual players are.
