I'm not sure if its just me, but this forum (the AFL section) has become unbearable, unreadable and I have deliberately steered clear for the last month or so.

Threads continuously repeated, stating the NEED for a new single card (nobody NEEDS a card ffs, its a WANT). Not only are they placed in the wrong forum, they are placed in multiple forums. They are bumped daily, if not more. Ridiculous conversations are had in these threads, that should clearly be moved into PMs.

The general language used in this forum has fallen ridiculously in the last few months. I don't care if you are 10 years old or 50, you can use commas, full stops, capital letters, paragraphs and spend an extra 30 seconds proof reading your thread.

Then I come to my most hated part of this forum at the moment - making a deal. I have PMed so many new members looking to either make a fair trade (or sell at a very competitive price) for the card THEY WANT and get thrown back ridiculous counter offers or many other times don't receive a reply at all.

WHY WOULD YOU ASK FOR A CARD THAT YOU WANT AND ASK FOR A PM FOR A PRICE WHEN YOU WONT EVEN HAVE THE COMMON COURTESY TO REPLY???

Its crap. This forum used to be a place where I could put up my ONE AND ONLY SALE/TRADE thread and my ONE AND ONLY WANT thread and expect to get some fair and decent offers on those cards.

I have 2 cases worth of Teamcoach and Champions to SELL/TRADE and I can't even be bothered updating my threads. I really have lost patience with this site.

I helped out a member on here a month or so ago. He started a thread wanting free 2014 team coach codes because he lived in Queensland and teamcoach hadn't arrived there yet in time for the weekend. All up I gave him 26 free codes so he could play the online game.
He said next time I needed anything from him let me know so 'he could repay the favour'.
As it turned out he had 5 cards I needed from 2014 team coach series. Asked for a price hoping he'd send them for free but he did want $. I then told him he was hardly 're-paying the favour' then I got a sorry I forgot it was you blah, blah, blah. Eventually he said I could have the cards for $1.50 each plus $3 for another . So I said yeah ok I'll take them , took the bloke 3 or 4 days to reply. By the time he replied I only needed 1 of the cards he has. That was a week or two ago , still waiting for a reply.

Yep and these great members will all get pushed away slowly like I am being right now...
Maybe there should be some sort of warning system. If a member is blatantly posting multiple lists, lists in wrong forums etc they should be given a warning and a reminder of the site rules. If they keep doing it, see ya later! Go sell on eBay or something!

I've noticed a new member on here , has zero feedback. Left his eBay user ID on his profile page , but I checked on eBay and no one was found under that name. Doesn't fill you with confidence.

Are their section specific moderators?

Either way, if you see people breaching policy you can always report a post or thread, or PM a mod. I just had a quick look and saw a certain afl trader with about 4 or 5 sale threads. I also remember there being a few duplicate threads talking about the Micro Figurines and newspaper specific Team Coach cards.

I just flog most of my stuff on ebay these days and link it here. If I see something in someone's want list, I'll offer it.

Unfortunately there's not a lot you can about the way people type. I hate text speak, and anyone posting on a forum can't be that pressed for time that they have to shorten everything to UR, PLZ and M8. But the kids these days care little for comprehension and all you can do is skip over them. Their loss if they are trying to sell something.

I think what bums me out the most is barely anyone seems to talk footy here.

Are their section specific moderators?

Here's the thing, I don't think there is. There's what, four mods on the whole site? That's a heap of work for four people to cover each of the sub forums, general chat, suggestions, dealing with complaints from traders and then catch people posting multiple threads. And I know that really only Matt26 posts a lot in this forum.

Maybe in the future they could implement section-specific mods? I would definitely be happy to mod the AFL section for time wasters, thread spammers etc, and I'm sure there would be others too who would happily devote some time to cleaning up the AFL forum and making it better for everyone!

It's not only AFL, check out the 'stuff' happening in the NRL..........plus it's become more of an ozcardseller site than ozcardtrader.....:)

I hope i'm not one of these
But if i do annoy people with things on here or are doing things wrong/against the rules just PM me and let me know, I'd rather know if I'm doing something wrong E.G posting in the wrong thread etc then people being annoyed/angry with me.

However i have seen some people that have posted 3 consecutive posts about the same card they need.
Mostly new members most with minimal or no feedback, I think the best way to deal with this is by messaging the member and reminding them about the rules.
Then if they continue to do it then message one of the Mods.

If you see this please report the threads to the mods so we can clean it up and give warnings to the members (if they get 3 warnings in a month they get banned)

Guys please report anything that you don't want on here, the more mods know the more we can monitor and the more we can deal with, and where appropriate warn or ban members. At the end of the day it is the great members that make this site great and the mods can only deal with what we are aware of.

I've also just had a quick look at the general forum and couldn't see too many sale/trade threads. I'll have a better look tonight.
I did find a few how much is this worth threads so I have made a sticky at the top of the forum.

It's more wanted threads in sale/trade and vice versa, but thanks for taking a look around :)

Will have a further look when I get a chance, as I said above please use the report button as it automatically notifies all mods.

I think it may also be a bit of an education thing to getting people to separate their want/sale & trade lists. As the few I saw have both together.

This site was was like heaven when i first discovered it in 2011.
But now find trades are becoming so nuch harder to get over the line.
I'm constantly getting quoted ebay prices and getting lowballed.
The site i thought was to easily communicate, trade or sell your wares, but now feel that the great traders in here are getting squeezed into the abyss by greedy traders and salers.
I've had some great trades where the values of the cards havent matched exactly,
but each party got what they were looking for.
And really thought that was the beuaty of it.

This is not only in the AFL forum, I think all sports will go through waves , traders will come and go etc. I think the key is to continue to invite the good traders you know to be part of the community here.

I'm constantly getting quoted ebay prices and getting lowballed.
I'm not sure what the problem with this is? What else do you expect them to use to get an idea of price? Isn't this the best price to get an idea of the current market?

The cluttering of the sale/trade forum is an issue, but the bigger issue is the crap we have to deal with when making a trade/sale.

Unanswered PMs, stupid counter offers and changing mind/offers/wants just makes me not want to bother anymore.
Unfortunately that is not an AFL only issue, it's common amongst the other forums too and is just a case of a reminder of what should be a common courtesy
